Ok yours is different. Going more with the science geek I believe. Not sure what the one comment was about though. Your design on Project Roof top is one of the few that doesn't have him wearing a hoodie and/or jacket with black and blue. And I think the energy he's producing as a different hue helps alot as well. He's dressed more like a student coming into his powers.

Thanks! I just wanted to make him look like a more modern young person look. Kinda like that hip-hop nerd/hipster look you see sometimes. totally no disrespect to the original, b/c both costumes(from the comic and cartoon) are cool but for me though the hoodie's been done to death. I've always seen Virgil as a less intense kinda guy, not brooding or sulking, so I let his clothes reflect that. All that said if I were drawing the comic, I'd probably give him something to mask his identity more, but since this was for rooftop I wanted to just have fun with it.

Nice you did very well with it. Yeah I could never see him as a sulking serious type either. I think he could have moments where he goes through that phase and remind people how powerful he really is.

I always loved static, and this is just an absolutely amazing imagining of him. love the light through the manhole cover and the sweater, original, inspired, and downright awesome!

I just saw all you milestone redesigns on Project Rooftop as a huge fan of Dwayne McDuffie and an owner of every single milestone comic book I have to say I am hugely disappointed in them. Very uninspired. You took away all the elements that made each of those characters their own iconic image. Have yo read "Static Shock Rebirth of The Cool" John Paul Leon updated Hardware in that series into something incredible, check it out.

Dwayne McDuffie's passing both shocked and saddened me. I loved his comics, and he was the best part of the Justice League cartoon.
