Description Boredom and a passion for poking fun at things I love inspired this. I'm sure everyone has heard of "Dances With Smurfs," so I don't think I need to explain it. It's also pretty good timing since there's a Smurf movie coming out in a bit. I don't know squat about Smurfs so I'm not sure I'll see it.

I used to watch The Smurfs. It's one of those shows I enjoyed as a kid, but now I feel ashamed of it (it was too damn *weird*, and not in a good way).
Hilarious crossover. Reminds of Chester A. Bum review of Avatar, calling the Na'avi "Smurfy cats".

Thank you! It does look like an odd cartoon, but it think it'd be weird in a bad way. Now I'm kind of curious about it.

Awfully big Smurfy cats. I don't know if you saw this deviation or not, but I got a big kick out of it. [link]

No, my TV watching was very limited as a child. Plus I was more a movie person even then. I actually only started watching the Simpsons a couple summers ago. I found the entire series on a web site and went from start to finish in a few months.

Well I'm not all that familiar with the Smurfs, but I'll go out on a limb here and say she looks pretty neat crossed over like this. ^w^

Your welcome love. And now having seen some clips of the smurfs on youtube, now I have a better grasp of how cute that little smurfette could be crossed over like this. XD

It makes me want to thrash around some of my favorite "My Little Pony"s and put them in equally non-cannon situations that I usually put my NIMH fandom through, for shiz and giggles! Those little ponies are such cuteys!

I never watched the Smurfs at all. I would've been more of a Care Bears girl.

I didn't have much TV experience as a kid, but the Care Bears look a little more sane than Smurfs. And they're cute.

I never really got into The Smurfs, so I'm not gonna see that movie. I thought the trailer looked pretty stupid. But, this is cool.

The director of the movie is the guy who directed Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and that movie I skipped out on for the same reason (the trailer was f**king stupid).

She looks great like that. I know some things about the Smurfs, since they made a cartoon series about it in the 80s. But, it's actually was a comic book created by a guy named Peyo, before it was a series.

I heard Hank Azaria is going to be in the movie. As long, as it stays true to the cartoon even though, the Smurfs are going to New York, I'll probably give it a chance.

Thank you! You'll probably see it before I get the chance, and since you have good taste I'll wait for your verdict. And thanks for giving me Peyo's name. I'll make the copyright out to him.

You're welcome. There have been some pretty good Live-Action movies that were cartoons, like George of the Jungle and The Flintstones. I also liked Scooby Doo, but I was disappointed that they made Scrappy the Bad Guy.

They made him the bad guy because nobody likes him. I don't really have ANY opinion of him. I've never really been a big fan of the Scooby-Doo franchise. I don't hate it, I just don't care.

sideshowbobfanatic In reply to JimCarreyDude19 [2010-08-30 01:10:19 +0000 UTC]

Duh, I know that. Although, I only like him in the episodes where he's mostly the smart one and not when he wants to beat up the ghosts.

I still like the Scooby Franchise. I just don't like any of the new stuff that they are doing. Frank Welker is a great voice actor, but he can't do Scooby, right. Don Messick will always be the voice of Scooby for me. End of rant.

Alright, I understand. I have a similar opinion about Fred Flintstone. I much prefer Alan Reed to Henry Corden.

Alan Reed was a great Fred, but I think the second one did a pretty decent job.

Yeah, I guess. I also thought John Goodman was the perfect choice for the live-action version.
