All you people saying Nazo is a character, you're not that bright. On the Sonic Wiki, it says that there as a file of this guy called Nazo.jpg, that doesn't nessecarily mean his name is Nazo, that's what the fans dubbed him. THIS COULD MIGHT AS WELL be Hyper Sonic, his eyes, gloves, SHOES, spines, it gives a big resemblance! I'm not sure who this guy really is, but thruthfully, NEITHER DO YOU.

Hyper sonic doesn't have green eyes, or a solid color, plus you just made A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE TRIGGERD! Hyper sonic has RED eyes and still has the trade-mark TAN MUSSLE, TAN ARMS, AND TAN BELLY, and he's CONSTANTLY CHANGING COLOR! do you NOT NOTICE THE MAGOR, OBVIASLY NOTICABLE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE FAN CHARACTER, NAZO, AND HYPER SONIC?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

This guy has no face fur (that little thing shaped like a 3 on it's side), Hyper Sonic's quills do not stand up like that, his arms are the same color as his face fur, Sonic's spines are in the back of his head, this guy's spines jet out from all directions, AND his back 2 spines don't jet out like that. NO other character has a form like the one shown here, so by all logical conclusions, this guy is his own separate character.

Go to 2:40. You'll see Nazo fully animated for 2 seconds. Not flashing multiple colors. Hyper Sonic flashes at least 2 colors per second. So, Nazo was his own separate character.

There's no OFFICIAL proof, MAYBE it was a transformation or something, NO ONE KNOWS CUZ SEGA NEVER PUT INFO ABOUT HIM

Then he's non-cannon entirely. The fact that his ONLY appearance was in Sonic X and the fact that NO character looks like this gives the assumption that he was his own separate character. So, by all evidence it points to the fact that he was his own character.

Err, no one knows exactly who this char is, i do think that's one of sonic super forms or something, Nazo is just a fan givin name to this unknown character.
