Let's say Charlie commits suicide. And yes, I've seen at least three works (stories or pictures) that portray him doing just that. Would the other characters miss him? If so, where's the proof?

All others were thrown in characters from the strip, strategically placed within the context of the specials, depending on their importance to the given stories.
Lila and Janice are two that directly come to mind, as the former is Snoopy's original and former owner, whilst the other is a girl who shares a mutual affection with Linus, despite contracting lukemic cancer (thankfully, in the special, she gets well with treatment, but in real-life, the girl she was based on sadly died).
MY personal Peanuts/Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show Remix (c) to me, although the music therein is (c) to Vince Guaraldi, the cheif composer for the Peanuts score [ [link] ].

Yes. Eudora was the girl's name. She wound up being a rival for Sally's affections for her "Sweet Babboo".

Yeah. When Eudora was cold, Linus kindly offered her his blanket. Taking a liking to the blanket, Eudora clutched close to it. Then Sally showed up, asking where she got that blanket from. Eudora told her that a certain "Sweet Babboo" gave her the blanket. Upset that Eudora received Linus' blanket instead of her, Sally demanded to speak to her "Sweet-and-sour Babboo" about what had just happened. Linus told Sally the truth, but upon realizing that he had given up his own security tool and had unwittingly caused tension between the girls, he wanted his blanket back. Growing bored of it anyway, Eudora gave it back, and everything was back to the way it should be, with Eudora as a background character and Sally toddling along after Linus with adoration in her features.
