Damn, that looks friggin amazing. It's hard to believe you turned that sketch (good as it was though, don't get me wrong) into that. It reminds me of Mirage's assault on the Omnicons taking place in the Energon comics currently, only MUCH nicer looking, and much more gritty and down and dirty. It's simply amazing what some nicely done weather effects can do to the imagery of a picture.

Heh, thanks. Of course major props to Beams for the line art... I should post the pic minus all the environmental stuff cause all the work below the knees is hidden.

Nicely done 1DB! I really love how you've done the waves splashing against Mirage.....what brushes did you use to create that effect?
BOSH!

It was a mixture of the default watery brushes. I forget what they are called...but they give off a drippy/splotchy effect so a little manipulation of them along with watercolor brushes and a little smearing worked.

It was one of those things you just mess with til you get what you like XD.

I'm sure it is just like riding a bike. Once you get back into the swing of things it all comes rushing back.

Sweet! I like the painted look--makes him look like he's posing for card-art from the old GI Joe figures. *faves* I likes it!

If you say so....I was never into the Joes, but I'll take your word on it. Heh.

Gunmetalblack In reply to 1DB [2004-10-11 01:13:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, I mean it in the sense of "pose with action-y stuff happening around them"

I was never as into Joes as much as TFs when I was a kid. Really Dig the cobra troops tho. You can't go wrong with tons of colourful faceless troops.

Ah.

Yeah, I would sometimes watch the show, but I could have cared less about the figs. They just seemed so boring compared to everything else out there.

Well, and tiny. *L*

One of the advantages TFs always had was that they were 1) either frickin' huge or could be smooshed together to enhugen them or 2) die-cast metal.

I liked having a toy heavy enough to kill someone with. You know, if I ever needed to.

Haha, yeah. Though sadly I went through a curious destruction phase and I disassembled all my TF's. >.<

Too far? PSH! It's awesome. You've created so much detail with only basic linework, and added scenery from scratch. You should go too far more often
