One more weekend of photographing horse racing at this track before everyone shifts operations to the next summer base. It's how it goes. Everyone settles in, sets up a temporary city at the track while the track is conducting racing, then it closes up its season and everyone packs up and moves on to the next one. I have to admit I will miss this particular group, especially the young horses that have been training here for months getting ready for the big futurities in the fall. They are endearing little monsters. With any luck, I should be moving on with most of them to the next track in August though it'll require a bit of super-amazing-Pennypants-organizing since it'll coincide with major speed skating races and, frankly, during an Olympic year??..speed skating wins the tug-of-war.
