Description
Even after learning Guren was the one who killed his mother in the name of Orochimaru, Yuukimaru did not lose any of his respect or love for her. She cared for him in his time of need and he will never forget that.

Guren is the one Yuukimaru can return to, and Yuukimaru is where Guren returns.

When Guren dives into the lake in which the 3 Tailed Beast roams, encased in crystal in order to bring down Rinji's reanimated corpse, Yuukimaru notices the crystallized Camellia Guren gifted him with is crack and he takes that as a sign of Guren's demise and is thrown into such a rage his powers that control the 3 Tails throws them both into a frenzy.

Naruto takes Yuukimaru and returns him safely to the team's base in the woods where he is tended to by Shizune. However, his abilities to control the 3 Tails are no longer for his rage destroyed nearly half of his chakra system and puts him into a coma.

After Gozu, who had been assumed dead after he had been struck with Kakashi's Lightning Blade and sunk in the form of mud to the bottom of the lake, discovers Guren's crystal encased body he admits his admiration for her and they return to the surface together.

Late at night nearly the same instant Gozu saves Guren he awakens from his coma to see that his Guren's gift is repaired and glowing and he knows she is alive and well.

He swiftly sneaks away without disturbing the others. Naruto only realizes he is missing when he accidentally wakes himself up by falling over and hitting his head. When he does awaken Naruto sprints away to locate Yuukimaru, but is unsuccessful. Instead, Naruto finds Yuukimaru’s crystallized Camellia in a bush, due to its glow.

That instant Naruto knows his search is over because Yuukimaru would not leave behind something so precious to him unless he found something, or someone, better to take its place. Naruto heads back to the hideout and come morning when the rest of the team are ready to leave to go home, Lee and Tenten insist on finding Yuukimaru, but Yamato, Kakashi, and Shino can see no point which enrages the two.

But, to everyone’s surprise Naruto agrees with not searching for Yuukimaru. Sakura is shocked that Naruto, of all people, would give up on someone he fought so hard and long to protect, but it isn’t until they get home she finds out why. On the outskirts of Konoha, while everyone else runs ahead to return home, Sakura asks Naruto why he wasn’t on the “search party side” and Naruto says he’s got somewhere to return to and removes the Camellia from his pocket to lay it on the ground.

He then points out that Yuukimaru’s situation proves that if they think of someone they will always have a place to return to, of course he means Sasuke.

At the end of his story Yuukimaru can be seen hand in hand with his beloved Guren. As they walk to a new beginning away from Orochimaru, who thinks they are all dead, Yuukimaru’s mother’s necklace is seen tied to a white Camellia bush. Signifying that the past is behind them and they can move on with their lives. Together for now and forever.
