Description ~ Be careful of the pretty things, lest they ensnare you.

I haven't posted anything photographic in a long, long time, so I apologise about that. I haven't really been feeling it lately, even though I have thousands of photos saved.

A special thanks to Krzik who directed me on this path to take a macro shot and upload it. It's a very recent photograph, which is an added bonus for you guys because I usually take aeons to upload a piece. xD

If any of you could suggest any more ideas on what I could post (APN, architecture, abstract/surreal, etc.), it would be much appreciated!

As for the photo... I found something, and shot it for all it was worth. Nothing much more to say to that.

I don't know what you found here, but it's beautiful. I love the delicate lines of black and white; there's something really fragile feeling to the entire shot.

I set this up by happenstance.

Thanks for the comment!

What is it?
Ideas, eh? Have you done any black n' white photos with like maybe mirrors? I'm thinking but I'm not sure how much one can do with a cam. ^^

3wyl In reply to Pheenixorphan [2016-11-22 01:50:16 +0000 UTC]

It's just a feather, a leaf and a reflective surface.

I don't do a lot of black and white photography, but it's something to look into!

Pheenixorphan In reply to 3wyl [2016-11-22 01:55:51 +0000 UTC]

I know. I haven't been able to unload my art recently, due to internet problems. But bah, I actually drew a few black n' white pictures for my comic, and now I'm like, dang I'm loving it!
But I don't do just like a sketched black n' white, becuase that's lazy. (not really but B and W actually hurts my eyes if I just leave it completely white without any gray to tone it down.)
Β I did instead the type where it looks like an old movie back in the old days. I'll link it to you when I'm finally able to post again.Β

3wyl In reply to Pheenixorphan [2016-11-23 23:30:49 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that sucks. Internet problems are not fun.

Black and white can be pretty awesome when done well.

I can understand that. It is a lot better to shade and tone it down with various shades of grey, rather than have it a stark black and/or white.
Β
Sounds good! I'll be looking forward to it.

So far I've only done it on my Phantom Story characters, but I'm planning on doing some with my other characters unrelated to that comic.Β

How many characters are you planning on doing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pheenixorphan In reply to 3wyl [2016-12-09 02:21:55 +0000 UTC]

I HAVE MILLIONS.
Like I have my demon ones which there's a comic to-(and then there'll be a better completed version in the future)- and then I have my fantasy critters like Whofly and monsters. As well as some other random ones I just make. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to Pheenixorphan [2016-12-15 00:26:52 +0000 UTC]

Ooh, I see.

There are almost always better completed versions in the future, regardless of what it is, whether it's technology, or graphics or something else.

It sounds like you do a variety, which is pretty cool.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pheenixorphan In reply to 3wyl [2016-12-18 04:43:07 +0000 UTC]

^^
I've done mostly fantasy ones. But I've got humans and demons as well. I've even got this sick idea about a world of evolved dolphins trying to go the bottom of the ocean to discover where they came from and stuff. You know like a reverse humans going into space concept.Β Β
And then they encounter "alien sea-creatures". (Which aren't but you know how the deeper one goes in the ocean, the more creepy and bizarre the animals get.) Β
But it'll have to wait until I complete my Phantom Story and Traitors Island stories.Β

3wyl In reply to Pheenixorphan [2016-12-21 00:22:41 +0000 UTC]

The evolved dolphins trying to go the bottom of the ocean to discover where they came from sounds quite intriguing. I get what you mean with a reverse 'humans going into space' kind of thing.
Β
Yes, I have heard and seen the creatures deep down in the ocean... they are pretty intense.

How long do you think it will take before you finish both stories?
Β Β  Β

Pheenixorphan In reply to 3wyl [2016-12-21 00:40:58 +0000 UTC]

Who knows. Probably till I'm 80!! Haha, but seriously I've been working on Traitors island since I was 10. It went through quite a bit of stages due to me maturing, figuring out what I really wanted to create, and how to make it more unique. The demon one is more recent, like I started on it when I was somewhere in my teens. So don't hold your breath, but don't forget me either!!Β Β
I even have some other ones with like bats-(which I made during a me-liking-bats-phase)-and they are involved in like a CSI kind of thing. But of course with a twist. I'm also going to do another animal one with mice, rats, bats, and all that, but instead of presenting them realistically, I want to present them on a mythology level. Like bats being servants of evil and rats being dirty and mice all saintly like, silly stuff like that. I call it Mytho world since you-know, myths. So the animal ones are meant to be comedy whereas Traitors island, Phantom Story, and that dolphin one are going to be dark.Β

3wyl In reply to Pheenixorphan [2016-12-22 00:13:03 +0000 UTC]

If you managed to keep this going until you were 80+ years old, that would be pretty amazing. My husband's grandfather is still creating and writing, and it really does make a difference on the mind and soul when we are proactive and productive in such a way.

10 is a ripe age for maturing.

Sounds like you are bursting with ideas there!
Β  Presenting them on a mythology level would be interesting. It would have the history to support and back them up into creatures full of life.

An interesting turn of events with them being dark vs. comedic.

Yeah. ^^ I'm wondering if I should show a sample of my comic to the group. I showed you that black and white picture and that's apart of the comic's story event. (Although not included to the fullest in my beta comic now)
It would interesting to have some input from you as well as some other people about it. Β Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to Pheenixorphan [2016-12-23 02:54:12 +0000 UTC]

You could show a sample of your comic to the group if you'd like. Our gallery is particular in that you have to give a comment before you can submit... but there's nothing stopping you from submitting in Favourites, or taking part in other projects listed in the journals, etc.

Do you have any particular questions about your piece? Link it here again and I may be able to offer some thoughts, though I am going on vacation tomorrow, so I won't be able to do it any time soon.

Like I was curious what you'd think on it. Whether putting it up in the group was a good idea, and such.Β Β
I need some peeps over here!Β  Β Heh.
But when you have free time, read this first just so you know.Β ATTENTION!! Those about to read Phantom Story
Might be overthinking it with my journal there, but I know some people are touchy. Also I hadn't written the script yet when I put this out so some stuff may not sense at the fact I included all that warning when only some of it is there and some isn't. Oh well. Β
Here's the first page.Β PhS- Clingy master- (pg1) Β If you like the story, keep going. If not, then I guess just read some?? I'll wait for your response. ^^

Whether you'd like to put it in the group or not is up to you. If you have made the commitment to improve, to receive comments, then it is time to give comments. That is how the gallery works, giving comments to get comments. It reinforces the fact that you are willing to put in the effort to improve, and that you have made this a commitment.

Grox color coat vote spot
Jaded dragonbread

Halloween Whofly (Checkered rain)

i cant decide if it's a leaf skeleton, or feathers and lace. though tbh, it'll probably be neither, knowing your work,

it does remind me of a clockwork butterfly resting on snow or something, i love the wintery feel and the slightly off-centre nature of the piece. really lovely and quiet

What a beautiful picture. Is is a leaf? It really looks like a butterfly, or only the skelleton of it. A picture of a skeletonized butterfly, that's really powerful. How fragile life is...somehow a really poetic picture.
