it was a photobooth picture that i put onto iphoto, and then edited it, and under the effects, there's an option that lets you turn it black and white. i wasn't actually planning to make it my new id (i was just having fun), but i liked the way it turned out. oh, and i also changed some of the things like contrast and exposure.
