Thanks for posting this up. It's interesting to me to see how your creative process worked. It looks like you had the basic idea down fairly early, but were willing to try different concepts just to be sure of it. The end design looks great, but I think all of the other ones have their own interesting and unique feel.

I hope the designs with rolling heads  don't get too dizzy!

Yeah maybe, though the client feedback was essential to helping me arrive at the final look.

I thought the rolling heads were a little silly myself. XD (actually the heads are hollowed out along the bottom for the sphere to roll in, but that's nearly impossible to see in sketch form- it was mostly just for my benefit)

I think my favorite part is the suggestion of an Olmech head on top, but not quite giving it.

Hehe yeah; you'll notice the one tiny sketch with the Olmec head on wheels doesn't have a letter next to it (just needed to get it out of my system) XD;

I also opted not to show it from a top-down angle lest it look too much like a droid.

Haaa this is an awesome concept dear ! I really dig your concept pieces.
I need to learn how to use sketchup as well. Looks fun to do, thanks for the process

Oh thanks!   I've seen many different processes over the years, but this one works best for me.

Sure! It's pretty easy and intuitive compared to Maya (though personally I wish the two programs would use the same hotkeys).

Thanks. I had fun figuring out the detail as I went along.

(yeah, that was more or less the design prompt I was handed)
