Those plains look a bit too plainy. Literally, they look too much like actual surfaces, yet there's mountains all around them.

the grid-like shapes on the right pic make it seem like it may be utilized for farming. Still alot of space compared to the castle.

This was such a great series of paintings. I really enjoyed them, and now we have almost counterspell, and almost Lightning bolt in Standard now. That's pretty awesome.

The spell effects look great, but the background and the castles look horrible and their scale seems out of whack.Β

The scale does seem off but I think itβs because of the attack/counterspell. Both effects look like theyβre not traveling a very far distance and without them everything else would work.

Don't get me wrong, IΒ like this piece a lot,Β but I can see what Kainarv means, though not entirely. The picture gets extremely blurry when you expand it to its full size or when you zone in. The castle looks a bit chalky but I think that'sΒ just the paint and texture, I think its fine. The green field on the other hand (especially the one on the left, the part with all those "cracks" in the earth) looks like it came from a picture taken by an old camera.

That doesn't sound very helpful or nice, using one word to describe something seldom does anything. What exactly about the background, the scale, the castle?
I'd also like to point out that the illustrations are not meant for super zoomed close-ups but tiny images on cards and those cards look great!
