A foe you can't frighten into submission by threatening them with infertility or snakes, eh?
So what do you do now, Persephone?
Punch it in the face? (C'mon, we both know she's considering it.)

This is indeed a tricky situation. Persephone really didn't think this through.

That is NOT a happy face.

PICK UP ROOTS AND FLEE, OR YOU'll TAKE A SNIFF OF SOMETHING WORSE THEN ARES GAS AFTER A BEAN BURRITO!!

Ares: HEY!! That was mustard gas I was working on!

Yeah, Persephone is in greater danger than she realizes.

Β  Β  Β Is there a chance the ghost will recognize Persephone's ancient incarnation and show respect because of that.Β Β

The ghost doesn't see herself as belonging to any god, since she's neither alive nor properly dead, so it probably wouldn't have helped.

Oh crap! Oh crap! Oh crap!

Wait... is it just me or does Erigone look strangely peaceful (or at least a little relaxed) in that last panel.

She is quite relaxed there. She's in no hurry.

Some god with experience in the dead would be good.

Do you do these by hand or computer, they’re amazingly detailed

A-gnosis In reply to aktikon1 [2017-11-24 20:17:33 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! ^^ I do them by hand, since I've never really got the hang of drawing digitally. I do the text in Photoshop, though.

That moment...when you want to see a ghost and then one stands in front of you...and it's scary as Tartaros.Β
But damn, Erigone sure is scary.

Yeah, this didn't quite turn out like Persephone expected.

Damn, that ghost would probably give me a heart attack in real life. You really made her creepy. I get the feeling Persephone didn't think this plan through.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

A-gnosis In reply to KellySchot [2017-11-24 20:01:45 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I wanted her to look a bit different and more creepy than the dead who rest in peace. According to Restless Dead by Sarah Iles Johnston, the restless were a bit different from the "normal" dead. They were believed to retain some of their corporality: "They were neither fully flesh so as to enjoy life, nor fully free of flesh's constraints as were normal residents of the Underworld."

No, Persephone definitely didn't think this through.

Yell very loudly? Throw a rock at her and run?

A-gnosis In reply to ks-claw [2017-11-24 19:49:17 +0000 UTC]

To yell for help could work, if anyone is nearby. Persephone probably wouldn't call for help until things get really dangerous, though.
