Description
My addition to the contest for the Dragon Calendar 2011 on the website [link]I decided to use watercolours and tempera in order to make it more "organic and alive" than my typical pictures, which are rather artificially technical
Roman vineyard, roman dragon and a roman villa. Nothing more, nothing less

ja viem ze je tam perspektiva no stejnak sa mi zda ako by tam nebol. no zreme ten roh nejde celkom dozadu ale skor doboku. ci? mas niekde rozkreslenu tu postavu?

Vysledky perspektivy su obcas dost srandovne. A ano, tie rohy sa trocha rozchadzaju. Postavu rozkreslenu nemam, kedze je to genericky drak

A roman anthro-dragon, huh? Sorta. ^^
The strokes are quite strong, but they add a distinctive atmosphere to the scene.
There are 3 parts which I really like about this picture:
1) The small shadow, cast by the bushes (lower left of the picture) - this looks so real and warm. ^^
2) The villa in the background (architecture for the win... do I have to add anything else??)
3) The skin colour of the character
(smooth and splendid)

Yeah, nothing unusual from me XD It's watercolours and tempera through a pencil sketch
It's more tricky to do proper shadows with watercolours, on the other hand they're good for those messy things like grass or vines. I guessed they want nature rather than artificiality, so I chose those watercolours. I couldn't help myself in putting the villa there... apparently it had a good effect in the end!
