The work with the light and the shades is very good and I like it a lot. The dust or to be more precise the fog underlines the mood of the whole piece of art. Very mystical work.
But as this is a critique, I'd also like to tell you that in my opinion there should be a little bit more of that bright light in the lower right corner - where the river bed is almost black. The result of it would be a bright line, which devides the shadowy parts and gives this picture an even more mystical touch.

Brilliant: nice contrast between light and dark. Beautiful and moody.

Deep in the woods. The edge light is fine, puts a lot of 'vignette' style stuff to shame (V shouldn't look separate or added on or dominating). It's a very tall photo due to the dubject matter. I wonder how it looks as a big print.

really beatifull shot...the way that light falls into the woods...the mist captured...awesome...the forest details...a very dark rococo picture. I like it (that's very clear)

I think this is an amazing shot... I love how the entire scene fades into black... creating a nice effect for the splashing water at the bottom... the fog creates a magical air that is echoed by the trees themselves... this is a great shot...

i agree with the critique by boproductions;
my monitor is well calibrated, and i can't see the river, it's too dark;
whenever possible, it's a good thing to preserve some details in the shadows, otherwise they have absolutely no interest in the image as they don't carry anything interesting; it's wasted space in my view.

I'm not sure if I agree with boproductions on the critique. In terms of strict composition, I suppose that light in the lower right is good. However.... I saw this as a sort of visual allegory of hope. The darkness at the fringes of the image are closest to the viewer so this is pulling you out of that darkness into a mystical and hopeful new place.
