Love the eye in the mask and I especially like the colors you’ve chosen for the piece, I also think the message is awesome and works very well for the grunge minimalist style of the whole presentation.

Yes, this would do fine as a print, and I would be tempted to buy it, as it is quite awesome. The only problem I can see with it is the edges of the mask, as they are quite jagged at some points, and overly pixilated at others, which would present a huge problem when creating a print.

The eye of the mask is undeniably the best element in this. (Disturbing, to be exact...) The cracks at the top are a nice touch, along with the text. Part of me thinks that the text is too much, but for some, it might be needed to get the message across. I really like the balance of the subject and negative space in here, very nice.

Nice sense of form, details and textures. Question, please: what is the contextual relationship between the text and the mask?

i will try to explain that in my final.

First Thoughts:good composition - the 'weight' of the piece is nicely distributed. the cracked texture on the mask works well and creates a real sense of horror to the photo -really kind of demonstrates the effects the weapons gasmasks protect people from cause. thas a very deep view but i thats how the piece hits me.

Use of Color: the black and white works well due to the darkness it creates, and emphasises the slight red glow in the eyes. nice.

Comments: a very well thought out piece that would look great as a print. is it for sale?

Rating: 8/10

i thought i'd comment in the same way your gonna comment on me to make sure i get the same level of detail in.
hope this was inspiring at least - there's really nothing wrong with the pic in my opinion so i can't really critisize. great job

The crack texture you used on teh face doesnt match the resolution of the mask. It needs to be nice and crisp to match and blend better. Also you just layed it over, there needs to be some transparency editing to make the thing look seamless.

The font also is out of place, and makes you wonder why its there. The white background is okay, but I think you could integrate much more into it. But if you like the white background, I would definately scrap the text, and add much more texture and detail to the mask and eyes.

That's a nice picture you've got there. I'm really digging the cracked texture on the upper portions of the mask. The framing adds a nice touch, too!

thte eye is an exclent feature tohugh i think the mask is maybe a bit too colorless? don't know about you but the grey seems a bit boring to my eye in this piece! maybe you could put oms e stains on the masy, possibly blood or something? just a suggestion ^__^

also feel free to commen on anything of mine, i sure woudl apreciate it ^__^

I like this one alot. Simple, yet really cool. The cracks on it make it look like a rock, though tat makes it cool, or annoying depending on how you look at it. Cool, since it adds a great effect, but annoying since it's less of a gas mask now. But it doesn't bother me at all.

It has a nice meaning to it. The edges look a bit jaggy (you probably have a default spacing setting in your brush palette (F5)), but overall very nice work.

Hmm i think personaly the cracks are a little too explicit. Very good image though its quite atmosphereic i would like to see a better background then white but again thats just my prefereance. Im sure a few people would like a print of this.

I like it, but for some reason, when I look at the eye in the mask it just changes the entire feeling and makes me think that there's something missing. Also, change the font!

have a good day man!

Though photograph is a bit out of my fiels of "expertise", i will try and give some comment: I admire the effort you put in to evolving this piece, I usually am bit to lazy to get everything possible out of a painting. Thje framing is an actual part of the picture unlike most stuff you see around here. I reallydont think you can improve this in any way. Good un!

what does that mean?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scaredlittleboy In reply to a1mighty [2003-12-04 12:51:11 +0000 UTC]

Well, I kind of think that too many people set up a print account, and too many people who set one up never sell enough prints to make a profit. So, unless you know that you have buyers, I think that it isn't a good idea to set up a print account. If you have confidence in your work, though, it could be money well spent.

It would certainly hang on my wall.

Lovely work!

Compoition, and your use of color is great.

Maybe bumping up the starkness of the eyecolor a bit more, but me thinks it is perfect otherwise.

The picture is excellent. Very good art-work indeed. The picture is fantastic and even the framing perfect.

As for actually putting it up on a wall at my place I'm not so sure. So I cant advice you if you should try and sell it or not. It's absolutly good enough though

Oh yeah i most definately would. Its looking better and better each time!

I like that you brought out the eye socket a tad more, and cropping off some of the bright white REALLY helped my eyes get the details this time around.
