Sorry it took me so long to reply. I've been in NOLA for a week. The tank is located in Oklahoma City on the south side of town.

I saw this today when I was in the southside of town. I had seen it before but couldn't remember where, then out of the blue I saw it.

I am really enjoying your work here.

Thank you. And yeah, I found if by accident too. Just driving around and there it was. I was like, "wow, that looks cool". U-turn.

I kind of wish I had stomped down the tall weeds in front of the door there.

I think it adds to it really. Oh, where do you go for these shots. Bro in law is wanting some good rust and industrial photos for texturing.

I just crank the radio, get some coffee and drive around aimlessly looking for things. You can usually spot a lot of good rust and chipped paint textures around the east end of Bricktown. There's also a lot of cool places to look for stuff like that south of I-40 between Eastern ave and I-35. Also south of I-40 between Santa Fe and Penn Ave. Pretty much all the older places at the edge of the downtown area.

That's what I was thinking.. Being in Edmond, there aren't many places around that are that old. There's a few, just not many, but the area just outside of the okc downtown area is a jackpot for that stuff I know. I just don't like driving down there. lol.

I thought of another place that's pretty cool. South of NE 36th Street on Santa Fe. It's not real ghetto, but kind of industrial, and on the west side of the street as you get closer to NE 23rd (stone's throw from the Capitol building) they usually have a bunch of railroad ties stacked up and boxcars on a side track. Trains are great for textures! You can get in close on the trucks for rust; there's usually deep scratches, chipped paint and rust on the cars; ... all kinds of useful stuff if you are wanting to texture 3D models and the like.

You're right. I forgot all about that over there. My dad works or worked at a printing press somewhere over in that area. Lots of warehouses and railcars and such.

I love this photo, seriously, it makes me smile and so did your reply. Love that most Americans I've met don't take themselves too seriously.

One of the things I like about this site is that it isn't America-centric. I'm more apt to find myself talking with people from Romania, Russia, Germany, the UK, Italy, or say... Sweden; then a fellow American. I like that.
