Description A gift for my niece of her cute little dog. Painted with acrylics on watercolor paper. I finished this a few weeks ago, but waited to upload it until I had checked with various family members first.

There was some guesswork with this one because the reference shot lacked detail. My family members were happy with it so that makes me happy.

Dogs are alot harder to paint then they look aren't they?

Painting always takes longer than I think it will. I found the black parts of the fur to be a challenge.

The thing I find hardest to paint is skin tone. When painting people I seem to have endless problems if I am trying to go for realism. That is why in my gallery you will see faces in shades of purple, blue and other colors instead of realistic shades.

Same here. I always have such a hard time with skin tone. I really need more practice.
Especially painting wise.

It's beautiful! Very nice work. I love the softness watercolor produces. It's perfect for the dog's fur.

Thank you! I took my time and built the fur slowly using thin washes of black.
