Thank you very much, that is a greatly appreciated comment. I am curious why this piece of all the pieces I have ever posted seems to get the most reactions.

But that is the way my mind works, so it is probably less of labour of love, ust love of the surreal.

The whole point is exactly as you have felt, what elements are the landscape what parts inhabit the landscape or are the intrinsicly linked.

I have to say this piece gets more adds and comments than I ever expected, it is done in the style of a magazine I read in the 70's and 80's called Heavy Metal. Since it has had such a good response I was thinking of doing a limited edition print run of 50, numbered and signed by the artist if anybody is interested please note me. depending on the response I will consider doing the artists limited print run.

This is absolutely brilliant. One of the most interesting and seemingly inspired works I've seen in quite some time.
What led you to dream this up?
Dig the work mate, A lot.

Well I am an avid reader of comicbooks and Graphic Novels, I have loved Fantasy art since the 70's. I was tiered one night and got to the point where I was really too tiered to do any work so I was just doodeling away, i put the piece down, got some sleep, the next day when I went back to my pad I just decided to apply various techniques I use and see where the doodle went. The 'Unexpected Landscape' was the result and I think I gave it the title I did because of the way it came about.

I love its' conception almost as much as I love it. Its got bits of realism, for lack of a better word. Small fragments of familiar concepts from reality that seem to be convoluted and strewn about.. as if part of a dream state; more closely resembling something encountered during a psychedelic experience for those less than straight-edged.

Well put it this way I was born the very beggining of the 60's so a teen in the 70's so you can probably take it as red that there is a good chance I am not particularly straight-edged. But the doodel nphase yup I think I was probably in a lucid state.

I've got some good ideas that I haven't been able to convey through a digital medium yet.. (or any medium for that matter, I don't draw as much as I used to). Been trying to figure out how to put some of my concepts into a visual form for a few years now.
Love the stuff man, really really good.

Well one suggestion I can make is try put some stuff together using photomontauge then get some marker paper and trace it out then after that tighten up the drawing without the montauge as ref. See what you get oout of it.
