Description
Main characters from Breath of Fire 2, I made these sprites a bit inspired on Snake's BoF7 mockup that made me want to make something BoF related, and BoF2 was mostly the rpg of my childhood, so it was a no brainer on what to make.I tried to follow the original shapes of the characters but trying to give more their GBA look, which was really neat.
Hopefully someday we see something new from BoF... apart from BoF6

While I preffered the original game, one thing that the second game improved was the main party

How long does a sprite usually take you, like just one of these? Or is it totally random like most art?

At this point I have basically zero confidence in modern Capcom's ability to ever make anything with classic Capcom's top-tier style and appeal. They don't have the same attitude as a company or basically any of the same people, Capcom of today is effectively a different company that just happens to have old Capcom's name and IPs. I mean, look at, say, Dragon's Dogma. Good ol' classic Capcom never would have made it with that ugly generic drab fantasy realism style, it'd have looked colorful and stylized like BoF. Or what about the nightmare that was the new Devil may Cry, they can't even get a game that recent right. So if they never make another Breath of Fire game, that's just as well. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see a new Breath of Fire realizing BoFII or III's art direction through today's fanciest graphics, but they'd never do that. It'd be BoF in name alone, and that's worse than nothing.
Rant aside though, great sprite work.

This deviation may be from 2014, yet I can't help commenting on it anyway... and, seriously, you made a BoF 2 fan very, very happy 
I'd like to play the first one, play again the second and maybe give the third a try. Not sure about the others, though.
It is so unfortunate that Capcom seems not to have eyes for anything not named Street Fighter. Not even for Darkstalkers, Rival Schools or even Final Fight. Breath of Fire is among their most overlooked franchises, a real pity. If they ever come to their senses and plan something for BoF, I'd be all for a remake of BoF 2... in your style.

BoF II was the first RPG I ever played, and the series has a big place in my heart. I was crushed when that pile of crap Dragon Quarter killed the franchise dead... but that was the 5th one, not the 6th one.

All of them look well done, especially Bow, Katt, Nina, and Spar.
I actually had an idea of an anime based on BoF. It goes like this: Nina and some clan members were sent via a spell to modern-day Earth, where the former meets Ryu. She tells him that he has the appearance of his previous descendents and gives him a sword and a Dragon's Scale, which allows Ryu to transform into a dragon. With the help of Nina and the other clan members, Ryu fights the monsters created by the doctor Zakary and tries to find a way to send them back to Aspiria.

I love the Sprite set up, this is by far one of my favorite Breath of Fires as well! I love the party line up. I am currently playing Breath of Fire 3 and its still a classic!
