I did this speed paint from reference the other day, in about 2-3 hours (maybe less, maybe more... I wasn't timing it). I wanted to figure out a method of applying the paint and still making everything look cohesive, so I decided to dip my toes into painting in values first, then adding the colors after. It worked very nicely which really surprised me! Normally I don't get good results when I try that. And I think this came out much cleaner looking for it too!
