[link] already up on tumblromg, it must be some sort of unwritten rule of the universe that you spot ALL your anatomy and proportion errors AFTER everything is nicely colored and shaded. Not before, when you still have a chance of fixing the problem without necessitating MASSIVE coloring changes. Always after.
I had a lot of trouble with this pic, but I'm decently happy with the way it turned out. There are still problems I can see that don't sit too well with me but I'm so done with fiddling with it!! agh!!
Drew this as a possible aftermath of the Grimoire Heart attack before 211 came out. You know Gazille only sent her away so he could put a massive beatdown on the 2 goons who hurt her without her having to see their mangled bodies afterwards. hahaha...
Also, it WOULD be like Gazille to make sure Levy's taken care of first while he pours blood from a dozen places. Ii such a hopeless romantic for this couple herp derp.
Finally...Gazille or Gajeel? Man, I need to make up my mind but both sound decent? :/

In french we say "Gajil" so I'm more used to "Gajeel". The name "Gazille" makes me think about a gazelle (is this word right ? Or an antelope ?) and it doesn't really suit him ^^.

yeah, we started off with Gazille, and then switched over to gajeel which was the "official" spelling, but it took me a bit of time to make the awkward transition and I was stuck saying Gazille/Gajeel for a while in between before I got used to it! Gazille makes me think of Godzilla, and yes, gazelle XD

hehe, I make art for the express purpose of planting cute ideas into people's heads, hoping that they'll write for me! (aka I'm trying to Inception them, haha) and thank you! I actually really dislike my lineart and colors - everything always looks so...2D, awfully flat and static with no hint of movement. I'm trying out a few new things to see how they look, I really want to improve!

I think "Gajeel" is the offical spelling. Del Ray (the American publisher of FT) asked Mashima about various names and their English spellings.
For the art: once again, this is just too cute! I love the idea. Gajeel is such a hardass and all "'Tis just a fleshwound". Poor Levy. Dealing with such a self-destructive guy... XD

Thank you! I was actually debating whether to go more desaturated with this once, but after altering, it just looked so dreary so I kept it bright and just hoped it wouldn't look too happy and woodland-y.
"Tis just a fleshwound" - BANG DEAD ON. I thought this in my head while I was drawing him being all macho and big man, but I really can't see Gajeel fixing himself up while ignoring Levy when she's hurting. It doesn't seem like it's in his nature (at least not nowadays)
I guess I'll be going with Gajeel now, from what everyone says (dang it, and after I got used to typing Gazille too!)

Yeah, I also can't see him taking care of his wounds first. I think the recent chapter proved as much. I think before she tossed him the iron he actually was ready to die so that she could live and also warn and therefore maybe save the others.
Or at least, even if he thought that he could win, he was so badly hurt that he probably knew that he maybe wouldn't make it this time.
I got used to Gajeel when I started reading FT on mangastream because they use mostly that nowadays. XD
