Description Go here to see my main inspiration for this design.

Watched a lot of lizards, iguanas, monitor lizards and crocs for this one, as well as two vids of and his final renderings of his various awesome pokemon. As well as many other artists that inspire me. here goes the text.

Sceptile and it´s evolutionary line are one of the most popular Pokemon to date. They are descendants of various lizard species, such as the Green Basilisk (the Jesus lizard), the gecko, the green iguana, and many other reptiles (hence, sceptile). This  omnivore lizard is one of the most difficult Pokemon to train.

Since their early stage known as Treecko, these animals have a very strong sense of independence and will not follow a trainer so easily into battle. They feel loyalty only with familiarity, that means they need to see and be around the trainer all the time in order for them to form a bond.
In the wild Treeckos are usually found in rainforests south of Hoenn, they are able to run with their legs for long distances, although they are fastest when running on al fours. They are easily overlooked due to their usual green tone. They are the least dangerous pokemon out of the three starters due to their independant, carefree nature. They use their long sticky tongues to hunt pray that consist mainly of bugs and other small animals. Unlike Torchics, Treeckos are not sexually active well until they enter their third stage of growth, so a trainer shouldn´t be worried by mating season behavior until later.
A well trained Treecko will need many hours of running and hunting on it´s own, as well as a lot of prize-training, and a lot, a lot of talking. Some trainers prefer to inhibit the natural developement of a Treecko just to avoid having to deal with grovyle and it´s larger form, Sceptile. This is still permited, although it is frowned upon, since it can produce a lot of stress to the Pokemon.

From 10 and to 16 months old, treeckos start to grow a long spike out of their heads, that can measure up to 1 to 2 feet in length, this is the sign that a treecko is entering it´s adolescent stage, Grovyle. Grovyles tend to be a little more agressive and territorial. They usually play with their prey and can take up to a day to actually kill it. They usually hunt bugs and some have been known of trying to take Scythers on their own. They also grow razor sharp spikes out of their arms that they use to stab their prey and ocasionaly to attack and defend their territories. It is usual to see these pokemon dwelling in the outskirts of farms and small towns, waiting for some fruits or any other leftovers to feast on. They are well-known oportunists.

At 36 months old, grovyles grow into their third stage, Sceptile. These reptiles are very territorial, and very agressive if one provokes them. A well grown Sceptile will measure up to 1.70 m in height (standing as pictured) and can measure up to 2 m when running. Sceptiles are one of the many pokemon species that holds a symbiotic life with other life-forms, such as mushrooms. Through the last months of their adolescence and the rest of their adult lives, Sceptiles tend to let a very particular kind mushroom on its back. These mushrooms tend to have hallucinogen effects on humansif eaten raw.  They also help them release their spores into the forests, helping more mushrooms grow. Sceptiles are distant relatives of Tyranitar and really distant cousins of Charizard and Salamence. As such, trainers should know these pokemon are extremely strong and a swipe of their clawed hands could mean an emergency entry to the hospital or a free funeral.

The most distinctive aspect of Sceptiles is their tail. it has many spikes growing on its sides, resembling an "x". Many sceptiles have been spotted lifting their tails very still and letting bug pokemon climb on to them, thinking it is a tree, only to get squashed seconds later by the sheer power of said tail. They also use their tails as a weapon, lashing it out at other pokemon in battles, or to defend their territory or Treeckos. Male Sceptiles never stay with their children and will mate with more than one female in one mating period. To attract them they will stand on their legs and inflate their necks (depicted), producing a clicking sound  Females care for their young only until they reach 16 months old.

Wurmples are slimy yet satisfiyng.
