Description "Jean de Quesne was an early "spirit" photographer, working in Marseille in the 1890s. Accounts of the time claim he perfected a process which allowed him to capture spirits that linger in our corporeal world. His notes indicate that spirits were most keenly attached to the life energy of young women and girls. He was popular and it became a fad for families to invite him to photograph their "ghosts". Outraged local clergy accused him of being a satanist charlatan and arranged for his arrest and his equipment destroyed. He died a pauper Oct. 31, 1901, in a pension in MalpassΓ©. A small number of his plates and prints survive. Several modern photography experts insist that the gelatin dry plate negatives and remaining prints they examined were authentic and would have been impossible to doctor at the time."

The fifth and final of a series Midjourney creations of Jean de Quesne's ghost pictures. In time for Halloween. Hope you like it. First in the series is here: www.deviantart.com/acue/art/Sp…
