Your painting evokes in me a foreboding, as the viewer, that I have to choose between the past and future as if there is no present. The only hint there is a present is the photographic effect of the choice of grays and clarity to the industrial optics. The light is diffused perfectly to give a distopian effect.  It is interesting that the houses are in the front and also at street level (the present).  So not only the further towards the horizon but skyward goes the future. It is truly inspiring, the change the painting beautifully and darkly moves across the canvas (screen) is troubling, but accurate. You are a fine artist.

Thank you for that comment! I'm glad I evoked those ideas through the piece as that was the general idea I was aiming for, as I do with most my city pieces. Mix between the past & the future!

This is AMAZING! I often imagine cities looking like this in the future. Whenever I look out my window over the old houses, I like to imagine that there is a futuristic city in the background with flying cars and odd shaped buildings!

This picture completely sums up what my imagination creates!

Well done!

I like how you used light to your advantage. Also, the colour scheme is very eye-pleasing. I'm not an architect, so can't discuss the way the buildings function or not in this piece, but it's definitely a very inspiring visual visit to a different world.

Cool design. Circuit City... isn't the name from Terminal World?

The city is one layer in a vertical tower. There are strange geological forces that mean depending on height away from the ground, different amounts of technology work. Circuit City is second from the top and is the second most advanced. The book is by Alastair Reynolds and is a really good cyber/steam punk novel.

Very neat. I'm not a professional Critiquer or anything, but I love how you've drawn it to give it a nice textured look. It blends in and overlaps with the picture, as if the whole city was a blur.
