DAZ Studio's built-in renderman engine of course.

Haha, sure.

Btw, this is that multi-day render I was complaining about in my journal.

Thats one hell of a render, you really do have to view the full size image to see all the detail, I just wish I could get the dragon to look like that in my renders.

Glad you like it! I tweaked the surfaces on the dragon's main textures. Mainly increasing displacement and adjusting specularity.

This is one of your best pieces if you ask me. The details are amazing, and I love your magic effects (one day I'll figure out how to do that). Just love this one.

If you have a particular one (or even all of 'em) that you'd like to know how to do I'd be happy to tell ya!

Worth the wait!

Sadly I can't even attempt something like this on my equipment that I have given the specs listed. The Great Recession lingers still.

It looks like reinforcement for the embattled dragon maybe on the way?

I've always felt that Wyverns (which is what that is, though I know it's hard to tell) were the vultures of the dragon-like family. He's just waiting around to see if he can get a free snack. LOL.

I should have guessed as much, it is the way of the world.

A very dramatic scene.

I still didn't get it quite where I wanted it to be with postwork (mainly trying to figure out how to "tear up the ground"), but I was running out of steam. Heh.

creativesam In reply to AdamTLS [2011-04-23 06:36:21 +0000 UTC]

You might try the poke thru effect of two geometries intersecting each other. If you have a soil colored texture disc intersecting the grass/ground plane, it might have the desired effect, poking through in various places, simulating torn ground.

Not a bad idea at all. I might have to try that next time.

Wow, Adam, that is just amazing! I hope others are downloading this to see the fine details in the huge version... Smaller just doesn't do it the justice it deserves! I'm glad you didn't cheat the shadows on the trees...
