Description
Another PSM endpage humor piece... This time, the piece shows the aftermath of RESIDENT EVIL 4 losing the magazine's "Game of the Year" award to GOD OF WAR, with RE4's embittered cast drowning their sorrows and grousing about possible reasons why they lost.Explanatory note: at the time, Chris Slate was the editor-in-chief of PSM, hence the Plagas threat to TP his house. Hi, Chris!
Further note: Never got very far in GOD OF WAR, which seemed like a lot o' fun, but was WAAAAAAY too much of a DEVIL MAY CRY-style "button-masher" for my somewhat fragile drawing hand to tolerate. (Sadly, I can't play any game that requires a great deal of sustained, high-speed button-mashing, so my once-beloved fighting games are likewise off-limits now.)
On the other hand, RE4 may well be my favorite game EVAR, or is at least right up in the top five...
UPDATE: As several people have noted, the line:
"...hideous, parasitic lawyers...if you'll pardon the oxymoron."
...should, of course, read:
"...hideous, parasitic lawyers...if you'll pardon the redundancy."
No idea why/how I made this inexplicable error (I think it even reads "redundancy" in the rough version), but nobody spotted it prior to publication. Well, maybe everyone thought I was trying to kiss up to the (no doubt HUGE) demographic of lawyers who read PSM...

I bet RE4 is laughing all the way to the legacy bank, right now! While I will not deny GoW's own legacy, there's no way it can even hold a candle to RE4's legacy. The untold number of games RE4 had an impact on is huge for a reason.

I don't even like GoW.
In fact, I HATE IT. It's one of the WORST games I have EVER played. Seriously, it has NO original gameplay whatsoever.
At least RE4 had original gameplay and graphics.

It has nothing to do with anything else in the entire series, turned Leon into an ass, got rid of the gameplay of the main games, and has the most annoying dialogue to listen to for me.

ok well this game started devil may cry and third person shooting would never be invented laser pointing neither and if it wasnt for this game the re people said that if they didnt do the story like it is they would have killed leon in the next game so no re6 if this game wasnt made and also if u hate it soooooooo much y r u looking it up lolz

I don't hate the game. It's an awesome game. It just sucks ass as a Resident Evil game. And I don't give a damn if Devil May Cry wasn't made or Third Person shooting wouldn't have been revolutionized. That's not what people played Resident Evil for.

As a great fan of both games, I can say I'd have liked GOW to lose, just to see how Adam would've rendered Kratos drowning his sorrow at the bar, together with satyr, minotaur, siren and maybe Ares himself

I thought this was really good and funny, and I think that it is bullcrap that RE4 lost to GOW, although it's fun, it's not as fun as RE4. I love this.

I dunno if it's intentional or not, but know what I noticed? The villains are the only ones actually planning to do something, as opposed to the protagonists bitching and making excuses.

Ah, PSM. The holy issue for the devout Playstation fan. I used to get every issue, didn't know that Chris was editor-in-chief for that long. I remember when their first magazine on Final Fantasy VII came out too. So long ago XD Great slide here!

They all need hugs... Just so long as Saddler doesn't tentacle rape me like he did Luis and Plagas-man doesn't eat my head and Salazar doesn't mutate into a giant penis monster and el gigante doesn't crush me and Ada doesn't knife me and Ashley doesn't scream for Leon to save her from a "rapist", I'm good. XD Maybe it's just not worth it?
