Commission from New York Comic Con 2012; Copic marker, ink, white paint pen.A combo piece by myself and - she did Aya, I did Razer. She already posted it to her gallery, but dammit I really like how it came out and wanted it in mine, too!
The specific request was "Anything with 2 Lanterns fighting each other." Comf and I pretty much immediately decided on something more playful with a couple love interests, but couldn't decide between Hal/Carol or John/Katma or maybe Kyle/Soranik. None of them were feeling right.
Then I said what about Aya & Razer from the (AMAAAAZZING!!!) GL Cartoon. Comfort said yes. Oh, gosh, yes. And this is the adorable result.
For the record: I think the GL Cartoon is the best Green Lantern production we've gotten in a decade at least, and that INCLUDES the comics. DC seriously needs to hand over the reins of its comic division to the guys in its animation department, because those people just understand the characters better.

So cute! These two have come a long way in the series, and they're both great characters. Nice to see them happy after a long day of battling the Anti-Monitor.

Oh god, now I'm more than a little heartbroken after hearing that both Young Justice and GLTAS are cancelled.
Both shows are really great, and Aya and Razer are such awesome new characters and now I don't know if they'll even get a moment like this before the series stops airing and I can't help but get a little worked up.

Heartbroken doesn't begin to describe how I feel. Losing GLTAS, YJ, and probably Tron: Uprising as well... I'm in mourning.

And Motorcity before that. I don't know what to say. It just doesn't feel fair.
Also, YJ was one of the last places that fans could find their favorites that were either in perpetual limbo or were erased from continuity altogether. Young Justice was the last place I could find Wally West, my first superhero. He was my hero since I was 8.
I just don't understand why. My heart hurts.

I love these two. They're probably the main reason I watch this show with my brothers (other than all the comic references, and the hope that soon the Indigo Lanterns will show up). It took FOREVER for Season Two to get back to their relationship, but now that they are back, there's way more development than the first season.
I love this drawing, their facial expressions are perfect, and Aya looks so adorable.

Yes yes yes YES. X3 I am so in love with this show it isn't even funny. I've spent a good amount of effort over the past few months trying to convince people to start watching it (the CGI being the main reason why most are reluctant to try it) and EVERYONE I've introduced the show to has become a fan. It's just...ugh...SO GOOD. I wasn't even a fan of the GL comics before the series, but now I've been collecting and reading up on all of them in my spare time.
BUT ANYWAYS.....A+ artwork! Aya and Razer are two of my favorite characters, and I can't wait to see how their romance develops more once the hiatus ends. :3

Yeah, if the show was animated in the Young Justice style I bet it would be ten times more popular. It was a weird choice of design - like they were aiming for Pixar's "The Incredibles" but didn't want to spend much money. I'm right there with you, lady.

Exactly! I will admit, I used to absolutely HATE CGI, so I was a bit apprehensive to try it at first. But I'm so glad I did because this show single-handedly changed my mind about CGI. I mean, if you really think about it, there is absolutely no way it could have been done in the usual 2D DCAU style. All the environments and sets are just too spatially massive and detailed, and there are so many little nuances in the character animation and camera movements that would stump even the most seasoned 2D film animators.

This is amazing. I agree with you - the Green Lantern cartoon blew my mind when I finally watched it. I love these two, so it was such a glorious surprise to see it in my dash! Gorgeous expressions!

Glad you enjoy it (both the pic and the show). The cartoon took a few episodes to really pick up steam, but once it got its feet under it it was just amazing. And I think these two characters steal the show, so when we had a chance to draw them we put a lot of heart in it.
