I think age doesn't really matter too much - unless it's like - could be your dad or mom type of thing. They aren't so far apart that Daine could be his daughter. Mentally, I think they are the same age - they're both mature.
I really like your Numair, except his head seems a little on the small side.
Otherwise, I thin you drew him VERY well!

It is a little on the small side-part of it is just to make him feel taller proportion wise. If it starts to bug lots of people it's not that hard of a fix to just resize it a touch though

Yeah, but they aren't in love when she's 12-13. They were just friends, and that just grew when she grew older.
And no, that doesn't make you close minded. I read someone say she disliked the entire Immortals Series because of Daine/Numair. THAT's a bit more so.

The thing is that back then when the Tortallan stories take place, it was totally normal for a young girl to get married to someone much older than her, even when she's younger. Tammy says that sometimes she cheats, by having the nobles marry around 17 years old, when in reality the noble girls would probably marry around 14 years old.

Yeah, I know, that's all well and good. And maybe if it was something that happened in -all- or more than one of her Tortall books, it would make more sense to me. (I've never read Circle of Magic, so I can't speak for those.) But for some reason the relationship dynamic felt weird to me, how they went from almost sibling like friends to madly in love. But I read this series once and a few years ago.
I'm not trying to debate it, I think they make a great couple. I just found it a bit strange.
