It's basically always heads because that's what it landed on the first time. The loop went through over 100 incarnations before the one we played in, each we can assume ending in a varation of failure. There a constants, and their are variables, iroinically the things that left up to chance, or luck, normally are the constants. Once it lands on heads it will always land on heads.
Once he picks up #77 no matter how many times the Lutece's warn him not to it can't be avoided.

craziest part is that little things change each time you play. For example. When asked heads or tails. sometimes you'll call heads, sometimes tails.

Yep I remember, that's the only gold trophies for BI. I have had no problem scrounging. (But also remember you can use the vigor and weapon upgrade machines. You just can't use the Dollar Bill machine to restock.)
