Description This is a VERY ROUGH frame from my upcoming 'Wings of Fire' animatic. I wanted you guys to kind of see the middle ground from simple sketches to the finished product.
I think this is gonna be my favourite panel. I just love the emotion in this moment, and I love how I caught the expressions and body posture - just like how I imagined.

I'm over half way through the project now - I can't wait until it's finished!

Nice work!!!
Your drawing style again comes across clearly in the shapes of the characters' snouts (with the curve and bump towards the snout-tip), and the necks' simplistic texture and the spines. The faces look very expressive with the brow- and eyelid-lines and the mouth-line. The joined hands look to me like they're holding a shaky-strong grip on each-other, I think in spite of the sharp-looking joints and knuckles and the overall closeness of the hands.    I like the way the grey colour on the characters slightly bleeds over into the white and the white onto the male dragon's chest - it genuinely gives the impression the characters in some kind of white void, which in turn brings the 'Doctor Who' closing-the-breach scene to my mind (an evocation which is very good for creating lovers-irretrievably-separated-across-spacetime vibes, when I know of how these two get separated). I don't know whether or not this is in the 'Wings of Fire' books, but I like the sexual dimorphism you've created in the characters' designs with their size and horn difference, and how it evokes real-life reptiles. If I have one main criticism, I think it's that the vertically-rising teardrop looks slightly too cartoonish.
AWESOME PIECE!!!

Fun fact - the teardrop is actually not a real tear, it is a scale. In the Wing of Fire books, the male dragon here, Darkstalker, has silver scales at the corner of his eyes, as a natural give-away to the fact that he is a mind-reader.

But I'm glad you enjoy this for what it is. It is a very rough piece, and I hope you enjoy the finished product when the animatic is released.

Four words that describe this pairing in more ways than one.
