Portrait and copper study. I didn't find very good reference images for copper so it's not very realistic. Do you guys know a good place to find them?I also offer portrait commissions, note me if you're interested. You can find more details here Commissions OPENHi guys, I'm opening commissions! - commission type
- number of characters and a short description

- your paypal account email (so that I can track your payment)
- any additional details that you find relevant such as the mood of the drawing or pose and expression

Very gracefull portrait. I'm a sculptor I could consider making the mask and casting it in copper some time, work the mask out a bit. THen i can take a photograph and you can paint it.

Another way to find references for materials is to hunt for 3D models. Here's a page on copper: www.cadnav.com/vray-materials/… Searching for vray and the material you want should provide you with some pointers.

I would think if you hunted and pecked around enough geology pages you'd be bound to find copper. Or, if anything, a museum might have some on display if they have a rock section.
But, you actually did a pretty good job getting the coloration close to copper.

This is beautiful! I love the colors and the light play.

Not bad copper around the light mouth area, but the gray highlights near the forehead made it a bit flat. I use a mix of brown and yellow for mid-range, ending in diffuse white along the curves depending on the strength of the light source. The face in this piece, as usually, is stunning.
