Description
A revamped version of this old practice piece.Did it for a meme. It's a speedpaint, because I didn't want to exceed the original time limit... It's not supposed to be realistic - I kinda like the painterly feel.
Uh, I think I just write more while submitting the meme. *tired*

Alright, I'd like to start by saying this is very nice for a speed paint, and the original pales in comparison.
I have just a few suggestions for the piece as a whole. You might've kept the ends of the hair a bit lighter to keep it looking like hair pieces instead of horns. I'm not sure what you meant to do there, but I'm just going by what I see. Another small detail is the shading on the neck. It is obviously meant to be a darkly shaded piece, but it would do well to have the neck match a bit better with the face. You might also lighten the bit in the back as well, since it is hard to tell if its hair or something else.
Overall, there isn't much I see wrong, a very nice speed paint overall.

I really like your painting style and the way you shadow. I love the geisha's eyes, quite mesmerizing. The lips are very well-painted and I love the colours you've used on them. Her somewhat detailed hair is also great and when compared to the old work... just wow.

Hm, it's difficult to compare it directly to the old one, completely different technique and all... But it sure is good. There is something about a few of your old works, the first Geisha included, that kind of... Doesn't feel entirely right. It might be the way you shaded the skin back then, or rather how this contrasts with other things, like hair and eyes... I'm not sure.
Anyway, it's a problem long gone. This one might be a speedpaint, but it feels complete. Details (eyes, the texture of her lips, the, er... speckles on the skin) are where they should be and draw attention to the specific areas of the picture, while the rest creates a nice DOF. I'd say you did a good job with this.
