So, has been playing Pokemon Yellow at our dad's house lately. Then a friend said that he wanted to cosplay James. I said that I'd be his Jessie (oh god the wig). Meg agreed to be Ash. Then we started discussing skits.

This requires research. You know, watching ancient episodes (up until Indigo Plateau), reading Wikipedia, listening to 2.B.A Master... It also requires looking up art.

It's a vast wasteland. No, really. The OG art looks like they drew with their off-hands. And teh fanart is similarly barren. So what do I do?

Jessie turned out really nice, I think. James looks unnaturally stiff. I might fix it later. Probably not, though. I like Jessie's hair. I feel like I was able to keep the original's integrity without making it so severely WTF. At least she looks like herself. The last time I drew any Pokemon, I drew James. It was at around the same time as my Inuyasha experiment and my YugiOh experiment (omg... I just realized the "oh" part of "Yugioh"). I was working on taking all of these characters and drawing them uber bishounen (ie, my style of 6 years ago. evil arrogance). But I realized just how ugly these were turning out, so I quit.

The second most recent Pokemon fanart was closer to 10 years ago... and I could draw Pikachu in 30 seconds flat.

Anyway... Drawn in oC 1 in just a couple hours. Team Rocket uniforms look ridiculous, so they've got their undershirts. They're off the clock. I like Jessie. I need to draw James better and make it up to the world.
