Happy Birthday, Sonic!
I finally made it... I got a present for Sonic to congratulate him on 19 years of gaming history. Yeah, so I'm late, but it's the thought that counts.
Now that I think about it, it sure has been a long, rough journey for Sonic, hasn't it? I guess that I'd like to take a moment to reflect on it. When I first encountered a Sonic game, I was astounded and IN LOVE (not like that, jerks). The game was so exciting, but the real beauty lied in the character, Sonic. He was silent, yes, but he had so much to say at the same time. "C'mon!", "Ouch!", "Let's get moving!", and so on. He was sort of a role model to me (but I wasn't basing my LIFE around him). In fact, he even made me choose blue as my favorite color.
My life went on, and so did Sonic's. He jumped into many new adventures, most of which I thought were superb. However, he just wasn't at that top-notch that he once sat upon. But that didn't/doesn't bother me in the least bit. Because you see, the thing that I like most about Sonic [games] is that he's FLAWED. He's not perfect, or the reigning champ of his gaming genre. He's got his weak points, which makes him, in a sense, able for you to relate to. Sure, I prefer for him to be better at most things, but I'm not giving up on him for his faults.
Sonic's been speeding through our lives for many years, and hopefully many more years. Here's to Sonic the Hedgehog!

Here here! you're speech really touched me Aero, I was getting to the point where i'd given up on sonic, my first game with him (officially) was adventure 2: battle on the game cube, but i also felt the same about him, the style and speed was addicting, its part of the reason why i joined DA at all.
Sonic may be faultering here and there, he'll never die completely for me, he's better than mario in my opinion. Hopefully, Sonic 4 will be fantastic and Sega will give it the love and attention it needs.

Apparently Sonic will be the only playable character in this game, so new characters (aka: the "wisps") shouldn't be the problem.

very nice awesome comment by the way I grew up on his cartoons and games,he was the one of the main reasons I draw today,as much as I hear people dogging him it doesn't make me dislike the blue guy but hold up more respect for this character,I hope his era of bad games or storylines has or will come to an end soon,I also hope he'll be around for my kids aswell.Whatever happens to this hedgehog he'll still be remebered as one of the gaming worlds wonderous icons,so after this I have one thing to say/type Never stop running (unless you get tired,get a chilidog or something)

*tips hats* Well, written bro. I'm pretty sure this year will be the end of this blue surge of a cataclysm, Sonic's been going through. Sonic is one of the few gaming icons to be near dead more then once..and yet he prevailed because of his fans support. So give yourself a hand. Sonic wouldn't be as strong as he is without all his cheering fans, and DA is not even the tip...so that's saying something, here's to you Sonic. With every bad choice comes it laughs, even then Sonic you bring new aspects to the fans in more ways then one.

Bravo! I couldn't have said it better myself! I've been running behind Sonic all his life as well, and yeah while he's had his ups and downs, that's what makes him strong. His faults. Not to mention he's got very supportive fans that help keep him alive.
