I love how the focus is on the drop of water and how we can see all the tiny details of the leaf.

it was tricky, i had my sister holding the black background so that i could get the angle (and keep the drop from running into my lens)

I love the crispness of the shot... it looks so clean and pure (both the shot and the water and leaf) I love that green!

xilinx [2004-06-18 01:49:10 +0000 UTC]

the rest of the photo is blurry because of the focus that he used. since it is a macro shot, the focal length will be fairly small...perhaps 2.0-3.0 and so the focused part will be in focus, however, all the rest of the image, that is in terms of a depth change will be out of focus. this is actually the desired affect when it comes to macro shooting, you want your subject to be in focus with the background blurred out. in this case, since it isn't a distinct flower, you can see that the leaves extending away from the water bubble is blurred.

btw...great shot! i simply love the colours and texture of the leaf

k im curious, well first off ill tell you i love it.. but secondly, why is it that only the main drop is focused very well but the rest of the pic is rather blurry/grainy-ish ...im not complainin but if u did it on purpose then next can u try one of each [one blurred one not] it'd be interesting to see it that way [srry for being annoying]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aerochimp1 In reply to benr1989 [2004-06-19 03:57:54 +0000 UTC]

i did intentionally focus on that one drop, but since i was very close to the droplets when it was shot, the depth of field is really really small, so not much can be in focus. i could get other drops in focus instead, but not all at once easily without backing up a bit. at least, i think..
