Personality: Ereshkigal (or Eshy as Enlil calls her) is a quiet, conforming child. She doesn’t make waves, and is silent to the point of insolence; most of the time she admits she’s mute (on paper), so as not to inflame the tempers of anyone questioning her. She doesn’t like attracting attention to herself, and (despite her bright hair), tries to blend in with the crowds. She is the youngest of the Oppositio senshi, and looks as so, with her giant eyes and lavender pigtails. Behind that, she is a sad, angry person, but does nothing to change it. She sees her fate as one she was destined to have, and one she cannot escape; she sees the same in humans, and continually wonders why they try to escape it. She is the cosmic realist, and continually reminds the others that their plans will fail; that everything they do is controlled by destiny, and since destiny has favored the Sailor Senshi, they cannot win. Ereshkigal is a stickler for anything related to destiny; she herself was against the mission to change time, as it would end the same as the other Oppositio Senshi: in failure. Yet she goes along with them, since anything different would not change destiny, in her mind. Her faith in destiny is also what keeps her sure of herself; if her faith in it were lost, she too would become lost and misdirected. Her attitude (in writing) gets her scoffs from Nammu, silence from Mamit, and a hearty laugh and then some from Enlil.
In battle, she is silent, and almost always introduced by Enlil or in passing by Nammu. She only speaks when she is attacking (with her powers, not her spear). Otherwise, she does not talk, even when spoken to by her own teammates. Her weapon is the Silent Spear, a normal spear that, in the hands of Ereshkigal, can strike quickly and quietly. While her counterpart, Saturn, is the emphasis of Death AND Rebirth, she is just the silence in death.
History: Ereshkigal lived in the future of Crystal Tokyo. From her birth she has been selectively mute. She would not talk to her parents, try as they might to make her; she was teased for never answering the teacher, or talking to the students. She was labeled as one of the rejects that Neo Queen Serenity missed. As she grew older, she accepted her fate, yet all the while wishing she could speak (thus changing it). She accepted Apsu’s offer of power and speech, unlocking the power of silence within her. When she returned to her parents, to tell them she could talk, her voice drove them to heaps of unconscious flesh on the floor. Horrified, she gave up on her free will she had and returned to Apsu, becoming the conforming soldier Oppositio Ereshkigal.
