Character concept art for college assignment. Done in photoshopCS3.Inspired by the color techniques of the all amazing Hyung Tae Kim.
She's in her school uniform btw.

This is pretty cool! I like the design, and the colouring style does really remind me a bit about Hyung Tae Kim's!
If you want any crits, I think the best thing I can come up with is that her face seems kinda flat, and her eyes doesn't really draw much attention. You know, since the hair looks so shiny and cool, I don't really focus at the eyes at all. That doesn't need to be a bad thing though.
Also, I see this was posted about a year ago! I hope I can get the chance to see some of your newer stuff soon.

you have hair like that? as in colour too? i'd kill to get my hair colour that way XD cuz my hair isnt very tolerant of dyes so nothing sticks, it just washes off.
and haha oh hell yea, i wanted to create a character that has an attitude and away from the mary sue's that's invading so many plotlines these days. ugh.

What kind of haircolour do you have? And not all colours stick very well.. Blue only lasted 2 weeks or so with me, while that red (which was a special thing) lasted for months, though it did fade away slightly, of course.

my current hair is like usual asian hair tho not jet black but black-darkbrown-black. last time i dyed my hair red, part of it and oh the colour was awesome but it only lasted like what a month or two? and i think before that, it was blonde for a while, cuz of the bleach then i wanted to put blue, but it turned green and i didnt like it so much so i made it red... ooh here's a pic of it - [link] (and oh yeah, that's my other account, photography account hehe, excuse my shameless plug)
after that i just left it and after a few months it just looks like it was "rusted".. so i dyed it like jetblack -blueblack- and lovedloved it! (pic lol- [link] ) but then it didnt stick and my bleached 'rusted' hair underneath starting showing again. DDDD: so i just chopped off my hair, and it was really short but now its grown out again and gosh im pretty much scared to dye it again!
you have to tell me how you maintain such shit ya know? i just have no luck with hair now :/

I still have the blue-ish green in my hair form the rainbow, but it turned blue...XD Too bad it was REALLY expensive to get all these colours, so I won't be doing it again anytime soon >.> My red hair faded to orange and yellow...
There's this brand called Stargazer that's cheap and very handy. You can actually use the bottles for a lot of times, without it going all bad. I had green in my hair from a bottle that was a couple of years old (did the test on my skin first, of course
I'm about as white as can be, and my natural haircolour, though it used to be blonde when I was a kid, is middle to dark brown. So I don't know if the things that work on my hair would work on Asian hair as well... I think you might need something stronger 
Also, since I'm a very visual person, and I'm rather colourful in both personality and choice of clothing (my nickname is Skittles for a reason XD), I guess I don't mind spending money and time on the colours of my hair
...I have the same hairstyle as my comic alterego (a boy) now, and when I get it blue, I'll even have the same colours XD I got two long black (though they're kinda brown now...) tails at the back, and a wild bob as main style

PS: if you can't colour it, why not try coloured hairextensions or something? I was thinking about little braids with funky colours myself sometime. You could even use normal threads of coloured fabric!
