Jetzt reicht's. ERNSTHAFT.

aaaah vielen, vielen, vielen Dank!

I'm sorry but could you tell me when did he said "but it was too late"? Well, I played Japanese version, and serenesforest.net doesn't provide conversation of 3-3, so I don't know what did they say in English verion. They're different in so many details!
This is the scene affected me most during the whole game. At that time I read this conversation, what I thought was: the incident of Phoenicis was because of Tibarn decided to avenge Serenes, and partially because of Neasala, who was a friend of Reyson. Reyson flied all the way to find Tibarn and when he knew Tibarn was fine, relieved smile appeared on his face. I thought Reyson felt very sorry and sad at the news. But Tibarn inspired him heroically. I was affected by their tenderness they show to each other. That's why I drew "Light of Dawn". I never consider so much from Tibarn's side until reading your text below this drawing. I just regarded him as a Hero. But now I can feel what you felt! It's so intersting and affecting to know what does who loves the other character feel from the same catching part of a story. Thank you for sharing this!

Oh man, I'm so jealous because you can actually play the japanese original and understand it! I would love to know what it's like, just because there would be so many different things!
Well about the 3-3 conversation... it was in that meeting with Ike, Ranulf, Janaff and Ulki, a while after Tibarn arrived. Ulki and Janaff were explaining the reason why they didn't attack the suplly army and how it was because Naesala deceived them and they attacked the Central Army with Zelgius instead. So Janaff tells how Tibarn then attacked Zelgius but Zelgius stopped fighting and told Tibarn to return to where he came from if he cherished the lives of his people. And then Ulki says:
"So the king made a decision. He flew night and day and reached Phoenicis but... it was too late. Save for the elderly, women and children they were all..."
Well, that's the part ^^
Hmmm, I'm sorry, but I don't exactly get what you said you first thought about the Phoenicis incident...?
You explained you thought it was because Tibarn decided to avenge Serenes... But then what actually happened Phoenicis incident as you had seen it? I don't really get it, I'm so sorry, woud it bother you if you could explain it again?
But still I know how you feel about these two, I do so as well! I just love their relationship, it's so, as you say, tender. <3 Light of Dawn is such a beautiful picture, I wish I could draw like that o.O
I'm so glad I could show you this new point of view
In your text to Light of Dawn you also gave me a new thought, the one with the conversation between Reyson and Tibarn. When Reyson said that he didn't want to wake Tibarn up and how this implies that they actually sleep together in the same tent the wole time... so wonderful! And so... Thank you as well!

Oh, I see where that is, thank you so much! In Japanese version it approximately like"So the king made a decision. We flew night and day, when we reached Phoenicis...the scene before us were totally different from that day we set out. Our country was burned to ashes.""[Ike]Unbelivable! So everyone's dead?""No, not everyone. It seems that man gave a order not to slaughter needlessly. Except those who fight in defence of our country, all the elderly, women and children escaped to small island nearby without a wound."
The war between Laguz and Beorc happened because Rafiel told the truth of Serenes massacre in Gallia. And because Tibarn valued Serenes (and also Reyson) and he wanted to revenge, he decided to join this war. So that's the reason of all following things including the Phoenecis massacre. When thinking about this, I could feel how sorry Reyson was. But I never look at this story from Tibarn's side before. That's why I use "thought" there, not because it's not the truth I'm sorry to make you confused, my English is not good.

So here again we hace something the European version didn't have XD It's just much more information if we're told that Phoenicis was actually BURNED to ashes instead of just the vague mentioning of a massacre. Oh well.
Ah, ok, now I get it, thank you so much! ^^ I just never thought of the connection of Serenes massacre and Tibarn joining the war and that, in the end, to be the reason for the Phoenicis incident
But in the end, Reyson must be very moved by all of this as well, as you said. I feel so sorry for him, I mean first his real home is burned and almost his whole family and the rest of his People were wiped out, then he lives 23 years in Phoenicis, having found a new home and then this one's almost destroyed as well!
What does make the freaking Begnion Senators obviously despise especially the bird tribe so much, anyway?!?
I mean Naesala's predecessor had half of Kilvas dying because of that blood contract, then the Senators trigger the Serenes massacre and later the same stupid blood contract being responsible for the dead of so many Ravens forces Naesala to kill half of the hawk tribe!
What's wrong with them?
Aw, don't worry about your English! I must confess... I think it's cute when people make small mistakes
I mean, I make them, too

alagiven In reply to Aeviann [2014-02-04 02:01:59 +0000 UTC]
Well, the word actually used in Japanese version is "焦土と化す", which literary means "turn to burnt earth". Translation in English dictionary of this phrase is "be burned to the ground" or "be reduced to ashes". But it could also been extended metaphorically as "scorched" or "razed to the ground". So if you ask me whether they exactlly set FIRE, I couldn't tell. But it seems more than just a massacre. That might be why they have to live in Gallia or Serenes, Their homeland is now unfit to live.

(literary→literally ...I mean "焦"=burnt, "土"=earth, "化す"=turn to.)
My native language is Chinese, we mostly use the original meaning of a phrase similar to that one. And I‘ve just found in this Japanese fan fictions (www.pixiv.net/novel/show.php?i… ), the writer also used a clearer word "焼かれ" which means burn. Now I believe Phoenecis was burned.
Again I've never paid attention to this description before you mentioned it! Another massacre and another big fire... they knew each other's feeling clearly but they never talk about that. I love this kind of relationship!

Wow, thanks for all the research!
It's so great, talking with you about this gives me so many new impressions on just that small part of the game!
That's really a terrible thought, though, the thing with Phoenicis being actually burned. In the European version they didn't even gave a hint about Phoenicis itself being destroyed, at least not as clear as in the japanese... I believe Reyson says something like that he couldn't believe that Naesala could be part of the plan of wiping out Phoenicis, but I always believed he was talking about the people of the country and not the country itself...
Wow, their fates are really similar... I also love that!

I'm not sure but, could it be the difference between different difficulty levels?
Because in Normal level of Japanese version, what Ulki said is closer to what you said, nothing about the fire, and Ike didn't insert his word "Is everyone dead?".
Only if you play Hard or Maniac level, you can read the conversation I mentioned.
And in this level, after "I'm still alive. So are my people, although their number reduced. ", Tibarn added "Whatever place hawk peoples live is Phoenicis. Therefore Reyson, Phoenicis haven't fall. Understand?" Reyson replied "...Yes!", That's why I said Tibarn inspired him heroically. But in Normal level he just talk with Janaff and Uliki.
Since serenesforest.net has two kind of game script called "Regular | Extended", I believe the conversations are also different between levels in English version. BTW, the difficulty levels of Japanese version are Normal/Hard/Maniac, and which of English version are Easy/Normal/Difficult.

Oh I see what happened. serenesforest.net/fe10/script/… . It said that "the English version only uses one version of the script, but for some reason, the localisers decided to use the shorter"...
Here they put some extended script translated from Japanese version. serenesforest.net/fe10/script/
Now I know why when I mention details of Japanese version people here always don't understand!
There're lots of details in extend version, such as when Reyson reached he asked Ike "Where's Tibarn!? He should be here, right?", Ike replied "he had meal for 10 person, and went to sleep in the tent there", Reyson close his eyes with a smile "He had meal... and went to sleep? It's good... so good." And after that Ulki mentioned "Our King mustered all of us and went to Gallia. He explained what happened to the Lion King, say sorry for our failed mission, and requested them to take care of our survivors." Reyson said "All hawk people were... very tired, ...so was Tibarn. But... he left Gallia immediately even without any rest or a drop to drink. I don't know what happened, the only thing I could do was flying behind him. My wings are not so strong as his. The distance between us grew larger and larger. When I heard the truth from Ulki and Janaff who caught up with me, I saw all black... Again, Neasala... betrayed us. And because of that, Phoenecis... was... perished... " That's why Reyson here, he went to Gallia with his family three years before. I was also affected by this part.

Hmm, it's sad that they decided to go with the shorter one... They probably did it because they didn't want to keep the players away from actually playing the game with long conversations, but I always love it when the is much story behind everything, it just feels so alive!
Awwww, that's just so cute! I can understand that you were really affected by it, it truly is sad and moving... Again I just wish I could play the japanese Version xD
Thank you so much for telling me!
