ok so if I'm getting this right. The head is a circle that has equal length from top to bottom. If you cut the top left quadrant in half, the cut will lead to the tip of the unicorn horn. if you cut the bottom left quadrant into thirds, the first cut will lead to the tip of the nose. Is X the center of gravity?

Pretty much yes. The X could be the center of gravity, I didn't think of that; I use the X to mark distance. I'm still doing some tweaking, but these are the measurements I'm using:
-Head divided into quarters
--Top left quadrant bisector used for horn placement
--Top right quadrant bisector used for ear placement
--Bottom left quadrant is divided into quarters, bisected twice for muzzle placement; I just didn't draw the third line
--The horizontal marks can be viewed as bisectors, but I use them as 1/4 marks for the height of the head (though they're a little off); I use these 1/4 marks to help with eye placement
-Body is 2/3 of a head in height
--Neck is slightly less than 1/2 of a head thick
---Throat starts just behind head 1/2 mark
---Back of neck is tangent to back of head
--Body length is LOOSELY 1.25 heads
--- I don't use a concrete measurement for the length of the body anymore; I find that using two guide circles who overlap slightly works much better
-Legs are 1 head in height
--Hooves are about 1/2 of a head thick/wide
---I'm still tweaking legs, I still see that they're a little off in this study
I'm still refining structure, but I'm getting there. I'm always open to tips from others.
