Mark looked into Scott’s eyes. “I like the name.” He said kindly. “But I believe we should continue this elsewhere, This place is not great for conversations.

Mark began walking but Scott stayed still, until Mark gave the leash a small tug, then the boy came along obediently.

Mark passed the woman at the counter as he left and threw a falsely sweet smile. He would have no more need to return to that store, for a while at least.

They exited the store and were on the street, on a gorgeous Summer afternoon. Scott’s bare feet danced on the hot sidewalk, for a moment before he became used to the heat. Mark paid him no mind and crossed the street and took a left. “No car?” Scott asked. It was great to stretch his legs, but he was in the mood for air-conditioning.

Mark laughed. “Why own a car in the city, I live close by anyways, that’s my building right there.” Mark pointed to a large apartment building three blocks away.

Scott nodded and continued to follow Mark. Scott glanced around and noticed people staring at him being led down the street in a collar and what amounted to a loincloth. It was humiliating, we had more respect when he was sleeping under bridges.

They soon reached the front of the building and Mark led him inside. Scott sighed audibly as he entered the cool lobby. Mark approached the elevator and pressed the button. The doors dinged and opened wide, beckoning them in.

They entered and Mark pressed the even button. The doors shut and the elevator began groaning as it ascended.

Scott then looked at Mark, for the first time since they left the shop. “Why did you buy me?” He asked

Mark addressed the boy, but only for a moment before the doors opened. “Come on.” Mark gave the leash a hard tug that brought a cough from Scott who glared at the man. They exited the elevator and Mark led him to a room a little down the hall way. He placed a key into the lock and entered his home.

The room they entered was nice. It was a large living area with and attached kitchen and a hall leading off to the bathroom and two bedrooms. The room was nice and bright. Scott eyed the couch and dove onto it, he hadn’t sat on a real couch in months. It was so much better than lying on the floor of that little cell.
He hit the couch but Mark pulled the leash, cutting him short and landing him on the carpet. He growled and stood up. Mark walked over and placed a small key into the lock on the collar and removed it from Scott’s neck. Scott rubbed his throat and sat, slowly, onto the couch.

Mark siddled in and sat very close to him, and even placed his hand on Scott’s bare leg. “Welcome home, Scott. You can call me Mark, or master, as I so command you, for now it will me Mark, but later maybe…” he trailed off. “Would you care for a drink?” Mark got up and headed to the fridge. He pulled out a can. “Beer?” He asked the boy, who nodded slowly. Mark tossed him the drink and grabbed one for himself. He sat back down next to his new pet and cracked open his beer, Scott followed suit.

Mark took a sip then watched in amusement as Scott chugged his in one gulp. Mark laughed. “Would you care for some lunch? I have some turkey in the fridge, I could make sandwiches.”

Scott nodded and Mark headed into the kitchen and tossed Scott another drink while he made the food. He set a plate in front of Scott and took one for himself as well.

Scott gobbled it up in moments and then watched as Mark gingerly ate and drank. “Wow,” Mark remarked. “What else can you gobble up?” He laughed at his own bad joke.

Scott turned a shade of red. His mind began racing, he had herd about men that bought slaves for sex, that was his biggest fear.

“So, Scott, you in to the ladies?” The question was blunt and was meant to disarm Scott.

“Um,” Scott thought. “I’m not gay.” He said defensively.

Mark laughed again. “then I suppose you’ll have to learn.
