Very cute! I really like what you've done, here's a few tips of advice that I think could make it look even better, not that it's bad in anyway. It's got great use of shading, though it feels like the clothing and certain other areas were shaded with a black color rather than the purple you have for the fur making a bit of a disconnect from each other and the background which is also purple, by making the black shade more into a purple it'll give it a nice atmospheric feel as though the bunny is really there. And it would be a nice touch to give the hair a bit more shine to show its luster since certain materials interact differently in light, but it still looks fine either way. Good job and keep up the good work! ;D

Yeah, it can be hard getting the right shade with multiplier which is why I usually don't use it, giving it the right colors is usually one of the hardest parts, other then the planning stage, well for me it is haha. I've also had to work with purple shading before in one of my drawings Business Up Front Party In The Back -updated- , I still think it needs work though.
Also if it's too dark have you tried lowering the opacity to a certain level? It might even work better if you didn't use multiply, for me multiplier usually makes it harder for me use an intended color when it's drastically darkened. I even decided to test it out, I used multiply for the original purple color I had set for the shading in my drawing (the one I mentioned above) only to have the nice purple I had revert into a black color. So multiply might very well be the issue here.
If you want to know how I got my purple to work, I first created a layer to entirely cover the 2 figures with dark purple color. I then changed the opacity to a certain degree until I was happy with how dark it was, not too dark and not too light. For the light I either create another full layer of lighting color and start erasing the shading away or I start putting the lighting color in above the shading layer, for this one I just added it above the shade layer. I then go back and add a new empty layer above the shading where I add a darker purple shade in smaller areas to give it more shape. Lastly I add a secondary light from the right and highlights to the eyes, shoes and other places. Though I added a different purple layer for the cloth on the end of the broom since it was separate. I never once used multiply xP
