And another bullshit background! I really need to get my ass in gear and actually start putting my subjects in to environments, good god.This was the first sketch I drew of him, and I'm sorry for the spam of drawings that contain Luka, but this one porperly shows his accessories and general style taste. He does have other shirts and things, these two are just the easiest to draw him in, so that's why they've been in every image lol. He tends to like reds, golds, and other rich, earthy colours, as well as clear blues and whites. He doesn't like yellow so much, but if he can find a way to work it into an outfit, he will.
Oh, and while you usually can't see them becaue his hair is in the way, there is a hoop that pierces each earlobe. They are completely connected with no visible welding to close them, they each have a small and round blue stone on them, and they can't be removed. What they are and their purpose, like many things in association with Luka, is unclear, but it's possible that they may be some sort of limiter.

Ah he's suuuuper adorable. please. Your lines in this have this rawness to them that i find very appealing. I love the subtle hints of muscle in his legs and the sassyness of his pose.

Thabk you so much! Tbh I prefer my cleaned sketches over most of my hard/finished lines BECAUSE of the more raw/organic feel to them. I feel like they retain a lot of character and expression/movement my hard lines tend to lack, so I'm glad that stood out to you! I always worry that they just seem unfinished xD

Mmmm I enjoy the "toned" body type. I've been trying to dabble in muscular but dayum its so far out of my comfort zone. Probably because IRL My preference is also leanly toned, uh I like slight muscles over the wolverine look you know? And I completely understand what you mean about lines. I regularly like sketches over cleaned polished works because they give you insight into the bones of an artists style. It allows you to see into their process and they in my opinion have a spark of life that tends to get lost as the artwork gets more polished. I feel the same way when I am watching animated features and they show the work in progress in between steps. ESP the 2d world.

I like certain buff dudes, but there are other requirements than just physique and maaaan, get that muscle on muscle on muscle shit outa my face xD I feel you on the leanly muscled and toned dudes, cardio for the win.
Aah, my partner says the same thing about sketches! I think that's such a beautiful way to look at it, and man, I love watching 2D animation progress, it's all mesmerizing, ha. One of the reason I like older Disney movies is because you can still see some of the sketch lines in the hand drawn animation. It's brilliant.

OMG sword in the stone plz. And robin hood too you can sometimes see them. Its great. Also they used to have the featurettes after the VHS where they showed the progress and sketchwork for upcoming disney movies. I remember beauty and the beast on little mermaid, Aladdin on beauty and the beast, lion king on Aladdin, and then I think.... gosh at some point there were sketches for tarzan. I can't remember the chronology actually ahaha. //shoves Hercules somewhere in there//

Thank you again xD I found that the thing that helped me as I was learning to draw them was looking at my own hands as ref, as well as looking at photos and just drawing hands in different poses. It also helped to think of them as a series of separate shapes (especially the fingers) instead of a whole hand.
