Powerful painting. It can be interpretated differently by people, following their current emotion. Blue can be calm or cold. Red/Pink can be love, blood or reavealing feelings.
We can't see clearly the face of both persons, but their movement show what they give to each other, pain or love.
The brush movement is also interesting : between traditional painting and watercolor. Watercolor can be connected with tears.

First of all I really like this picture. The colours and the feeling are really georgeous here. Especially the details in the upper part of the picture do amaze me. The hands, the facial expression and overall this deep emotion that both characters seem to have.
I also like the fact that you used big undetailed lines for the bottom part of the picture making it look as if the couple is somehow "connectet through colour". Buuuuuuut... somehow I think this simplification has gone a little bit to far. You can see and reproduce very well how the female body is structured and where her arms and hands are, even if you don't really see them.
In case of the man it is not that easy... I would have guessed that his shoulder and upper arm is somewhere in the place of his chin, but you can see from the hand that the upper arm has do be down --- and thus it looks on the second view a little bit as if there should be a chin... or it fell of... o.O
Also the light blue curved lines that follow the way to his arm do look a little bit like they should follow the anatomy of the man givving me the feeling his arm made of rubber.
<.< I hope one can understand what I mean...
All in all I really love the way this image looks like. :-D

I don't agree when you talk about the anatomy part. It's surreal and the anatomy melt with the color, it's true that you can't predict where the arm of the man is, but it's because you don't need to predict that, all is focused on the kiss and the hug, and the shape and the composition is about that, the arm and the anatomy is less important and is lost in that blue circle of emotions.

Ah! Thanks for your words of critisism. :-D I really to appreciate that, allthough I think this is kind of a matter of taste. For me the focus of that picture isn't that much on the kiss. In fact due to the position of the heads it seems actually more like the focus is drawn away from these details andf sucked into the white shape between the two characters. (I do kind of like that though.
