I actually like the tension formed by the composition of this piece. By positioning her head and contorting her body to barely fit in the picture makes the atmosphere of this piece feel confined and uncomfortable. I'm assuming that girl looks the way she does because this perpetual wait (that the author speaks of) has taken a toll on her. This piece seems very organically haunting, but in a strange wonderful way.

Fair enough. That's what I love about art... everyone takes something different away from the same piece.

Very fascinating illustration. View attracts expressive color hair girl and her lost, frightened face. The man was not evident, and it can only be seen by following girl's forearm, as if deliberately plane. Even if we can not see the details of his face, it still trapped emotions.
But honestly the technical decision to make the girl's hand flat like cutted from paper with sharp outlines is not brilliant. May be there will be more harmony in whole picture if the hand was drawn softly. In case the picture already has contrast beetween delicate and black flat. And its seems be enough.

But still nothing can overshadow emotions that arise even in a fleeting glance at the illustration

This piece is absolutely beautiful. The colors are so vibrant and precise that it seems that every stroke you put down was intentional and deliberate. I love how much time you put into both of their faces, the emotion that illuminates from the man can be easily interpreted by the viewer even though only a small portion of his face can be seen. Another thing that I loved was the contrast between the gorgeous fluidity of the colors and the stark black of their clothes. I feel like it really makes a strong statement and seems to make this a much stronger piece than your other works that the focus is on the colors only.

It was mentioned in another critique that they didn't quite care for the point of view and wished they could see the man's face more. However, for me, even though I do wish to see the man's face more, there is something about the piece that seems that the subjects are also wishing for something. That longing for something between the man and the woman is very much paralleled in the viewer's longing for a better angle.

One thing that did slightly bother me was the unfinished look of her arm. I wish that it had more detail like his hand, it just seems to be out of place for me.

Beautiful work like always, I admire your technique and keen eye for detail.

You've used such nice colors in hair and you established volume in the hair, faces, and that hand wonderfully. I love that the girls face is focal point and yet I'm still drawn to the man because of how they're positioned. It seems that the composition is my only problem as it's rather choppy for me. My eyes followed her arm down and got stuck at his back because the black is so overbearing, it keeps me onto the piece for sure, but once I manage my way up the arm again, look at his face, and then follow her hair to the hand and back up I'm lost off the page through her hair and I'm not sure if that was what you intended. Overall it's a very pleasant piece to look at.

because the girls arm has such a vertical push to it the image might have benefited if the composition was horizontal instead of vertical. maybe cropping the image from just below her hand and extending the canvas to the left could have made it flow much better.

I absolutely love her hair and face, especially the mixing of those colors. I also love the contrast between the techniques between him and her; they both have a very unique and individual feel. It is very well done but the rest of the piece feels, to me, unfinished.

One thing that irks me about is the placement and solidity of her arm. You form images and lines through the color and impressions you leave behind which, except her head and bit of him, is lacking. It makes me want to better angle her arms to see his face, even if it's a very un-detailed and blurred face. Then finish coloring in her arm.

Overall, nice, but black and white line doesn't fit for this. Maybe if you cropped it to center in on her but that arm bugs me and really takes away from the piece with how distracting it is.

Ah! Sure, totally understand, but the coloring of the arm still irritates the eyes, even if it wasn't moved.  Oh well.  It's still a good piece!

it was important that the man's face was covered, but I understand if you don't like it, it's a strange composition, but for this time I need it in this precise way. (:

I think this is a beautiful art piece. Your style is very different and outlandish that it makes this picture what it is. It's like if this was not the way it is it probably wouldn't appeal to people as much but it's amazing. I think you have incredible potential and don't stop doing what you do. By the way I also like the pinks, blues, and purples you use. Your color pallet is very vibrant and original. You make what you do seem extremely easy. That's what I like about this piece. It's very interesting and I'd love to see more.

After reading the one critique by Kamishawe, I just wanted to comment that I love how you placed her arm here. I think it adds a nice design element to the painting; it's separate from the white of the background and works well with the blackness of their clothing (which i also enjoy the big and flat black design of their bodies because it emphasizes the color and detail above). The way that her arm hides his faces adds to the overall impact rather takes away from it, in my opinion. I really love how his profile just peeks out past the bottom of her arm. Don't know how to better express myself; I don't usually comment, but I felt compelled to do so here.

There is such emotion in this picture, I can find myself relating to it. I love how the black stands in contrast to the otherwise light, pastel like color palette. And their poses and composition is just beautiful.

I do not agree with the critiques... Everything is at the right place, the "awkward" position of the head or the flatness of the arm make it even more beautiful.

The only one thing I don't really like is that you should have chosen a bigger paper size. And that's all.

I like that flat cutted-from-paper girl's  hand.

It's interesting to see it up close as the thumbnail view obscures the person's head and makes it look like the girl is just cradling her legs in her dress.

This has to be my favorite piece of yours. It's emotional and surreal and speaks volumes with out needing a word. It looks like she just let out a deep breathe of longing, or sadness, or just complete void. I'm probably not explaining this correctly but I guess that isn't a terrible thing. This painting is so much more than a still picture, it breathes and had emotions and speaks volumes.
