Anyway, here you are, a new Hetalia pic! I really like these two... really, really like. But... I don't know why I drew England taller than Spain... He isn't... (( hehehehe....)) Bah! I'm quite proud of this drawing

spuk, gerita, frying pangle (OT3), BTT (OT3), engsey, spabel, fruk, sufin, spaus, switzliet (I don't know how to call it), rochu, amebel, japan and taiwan... I call them OTP but there are many other couples that I like or I'm okay with, you know? I like Italy and HRE, or Rome and Germania, polonia and lithutania... I'm okay with spamano and usuk also, but I don't ship them...

Ahora mismo estoy terminando otro dibujo en el que están ellos también juntos como piratas, me encantan estos dos. En realidad tenía pensado que España estuviese agachado o algo y por eso se viese más bajito, pero luego cambié un poco de idea y salió así... ((y en mi headcanon España es unos centímetros más alto...))
Pero bueno, me gusta cómo me ha quedado, la verdad.

Nicely done! I'm glad that even though it's pirate-themed, Spain isn't submissive or hurt or anything like he inaccurately is in many Hetalia fandom works with England at the time. (Spain beat England quite a few times too in that era). So I'm glad he's just as aggressive!

(My mind: I imagine Spain and England arguing in a meeting like: England: *mention the Spanish Armada* Spain: ... what happened two centuries after? Oh, yeah, Cartagena de Indias sounds familiar? No? 1741? Blas de Lezo?* And then, well, they are fighting).
Spain was a very powerful country during those centuries, the first world power during the XVI century. British army bit the dust in many times .

You're welcome! Yeah, it's such a shame. It's part of the reason why I only visit the Hetalia fandom sometimes. They get things wrong too much. And yeah...England definitely lost quite a few times against Spain too so it's pretty unfair.
HAHAHA! LOL...Exactly! Plus, Spain actually technically got revenge even sooner! A year after he lost the Spanish Armada, he defeated England when he tried to do the same thing with the Counter Armada. So yeah...English propaganda tried to erase or ignore Spanish victories from the history books. But I'm glad that more people are educating themselves to see that it wasn't the case!

I hope that more and more people begin to be interested in true history and not be limited themselves to what they think they know or what they would like to had happened or just misconceptions.
With Hetalia I've reported many historical events I did not known before, I researched, etc. It has opened the doors, but you can not stay just in the little data you have and thereby write a fanfic or anything in a radical way and with those mistakes. First, we should learn about what we want to write and Hetalia gives you an incentive to you to continue learning. So you would attain write a good fanfic and learn more.
I say fanfic because this is where most I've noticed these errors. But the real error is in the minds of people.

Exactly! It's like what I was trying to explain to some people. It's fine to like Hetalia, but they should know that Hetalia is a fiction. Unless something is actually based on a historical or modern event, they shouldn't take anything as facts, especially the character portrayals. Most of the countries aren't really like how Himaruya portrays them.
Yes, I see them more in fan fics too. But some fan art is also quite wrong (like all the ones that depict England beating Spain but forget that Spain beat England too).
And yes, exactly. Hetalia was good in the sense that it makes people want to learn more about history. But some people should remember that doesn't mean we can rewrite it, unless they make it clear it's an AU. But the historical and modern facts will always be more important than the opinions of Himaruya.
It's only "canon" If it actually happened in real life, not because Himaruya said it happened.

I'm kinda new to the fandom, but I know where this ship stems from.... One of The kings of Spain and one of the Queens of England got married during the colonial era and they became the king and queen of Chile, who was one of Spain's 17 kids

I'm kinda new too, just... 8 months? You know, I really liked history before I knew about Hetalia, but now I have more curiosity about certain events or countries. Thanks to Hetalia I've got more culture 'cause I look for more and more information. Recently I have searched information about the history of Prussia and I learnt a lot. And I love the way in which countries have been personified, it really helps. I think it's a great anime/manga.
