Description A detailed portrait work may be found here: [link]

A woman of Zerran, who was travelling through a scorching desert in her kingdom, is sweltering in her garbs by the time she finds shelter under the ruins of a nearby temple and begins slipping off what she can no longer tolerate; hoping she’ll go unnoticed and let her perspiring skin breathe some, and maybe catch a wandering breeze to cool down with.

This is one of those works that I didn’t intend to put a lot of effort with, until I was further along and began seeing something hopeful. Originally supposed to only take a day, I decided to add a few more days on top of that and am pretty happy with the end result. And as the description says, she’s a woman of Zerran descent; a kingdom far from the troubles of other realms, and is well noted for having the largest desert lands in the world of Aikurisu.

good anatomy skills and your art is very inspiring too well, I've already told you that I like reading your background stories to each picture

Thanks, Julia! Always a pleasure when my art manages to inspire too.

Still... the background story in this one could use a little more detail.

I love how you take the time to add little beauty marks on the skin. It makes it seem so realistic.

Thanks. And yeah, I'm kinda inspired to do that from now on. Like you said, it makes things more realistic, and allos me to add unique characteristics.

Are you going to play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed? They're releasing it on ALL platforms.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to baronvonvoe [2008-09-01 06:51:09 +0000 UTC]

Possibly. lol, first I want to be able to play SC4 though. Might just get myself a PS3 soon... now that the newer 80Gb one has arrived.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baronvonvoe In reply to Aikurisu [2008-09-01 06:59:57 +0000 UTC]

Haven't played SC4 yet...been busy playing Call of Duty 4, Star Wars: Battlefronts 2 and Star Wars: Empire at War.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to baronvonvoe [2008-09-01 07:16:56 +0000 UTC]

Got the last two on your list. Never really get bored of playing Battlefront II, (lol, you should see my player stats... XD) and I'm anxiously waiting for the third installment, which so far sounds like it won't fail to impress. Empire at War though... that game gets tiring fast. Great, but has no real replay potential. Had some fun with a Battlestar Galactica Mod with it, but ever since the official FoC Expansion, the game just felt like a sellout without heart to me.

baronvonvoe In reply to Aikurisu [2008-09-01 07:29:49 +0000 UTC]

My brother is playing FoC right now so I have to wait and get it back...never finished it. He did download a update for it from Lucas Arts and it changed a lot of stuff with the Empire making them a little weaker. However it seriously jacked up the pirates power.

Aikurisu In reply to baronvonvoe [2008-09-01 08:25:18 +0000 UTC]

lol, as if they needed anymore power than what they had already. They were cheap... so beating them as the rebels made things even more rewarding, because you knew you were fighting as the underdogs between the three.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baronvonvoe In reply to Aikurisu [2008-09-01 08:59:55 +0000 UTC]

I'll have to wait until my brother finishes with it which will probably be a while because his 360 has contracted the red ring of death.

Your knowledge of anatomy amazes me Do you use references at all? Maybe I should do that more often Wonderful details, especially on the sweat. Lovely work!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2008-08-29 13:31:54 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, Stacey!

And yes, when it calls for it, I study human anatomy with a 3D imaging program that enables me to look at any angle I want, including being able to bend limbs and such. A bit like having one of those wooden art doll things... only better... lol. Just very basic nude models. Good for people that don't have anyone to pose for them in real life. *shakes fist at his remote rural lifestyle* XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2008-11-28 01:01:38 +0000 UTC]

Wow that sounds really handy. What is the program called? It'd be useful for me since I only got myself to model for me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2008-11-28 01:37:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, there's several programs to choose from, but the only one I bother to keep installed is: [link]

lol, and you know it's sad when you're a bloke and look to your long hair sometimes as reference for learning how it flows; almmost like one of those shampoo commercials for chicks.

...

I need a woman, damn it. XD

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-02-14 18:59:44 +0000 UTC]

Ooh that looks handy *bookmarks*

You're a guy?! Wow you must get that a lot though, must be the avatar

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-02-15 03:49:25 +0000 UTC]

Actually, that would only be the second time I've been mistaken for a woman... that I know of, anyway. XD

But yeah, I should probably seek out creating a new ava. Still, I draw better women then men.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-02-15 16:02:09 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that makes me feel dumb then

You could find an avatar that is gender-neutral... like a gerbil!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-02-19 17:19:40 +0000 UTC]

But... I don't want people thinking that I'm out for world domination and such. I prefer to keep those sort of ambitions in secret.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-03-01 01:58:13 +0000 UTC]

Okay maybe a gerbil was a bad idea

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-03-04 08:10:07 +0000 UTC]

Aye. I should go for something more neutral... like... a pretty flower! No, wait... those are in for world domination more than the gerbils are... *strokes chin*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-03-06 01:57:48 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't say a flower is neutral How about some of your weapons? They'd make nice avatars

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-03-08 03:54:10 +0000 UTC]

Maybe.

lol, well, since we started talking about this, I've been trying to design a new ava. Trouble is that I've created quite a few now and don't know which to select. Days like these when I wish I still had a subscription to make a poll. >_>;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-06-19 00:04:23 +0000 UTC]

Maybe you can make one that alternates between all of them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-06-19 06:12:22 +0000 UTC]

Nah... normally those tend to look rather tacky to me, so I'd rather keep with something unmoving. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-06-19 23:32:06 +0000 UTC]

Well.... then change them every day?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-06-20 03:30:31 +0000 UTC]

That would be kinda tedious for me... and besides, how would people remember my ava?

iduck In reply to Aikurisu [2009-06-20 15:54:49 +0000 UTC]
