Description One of my favorite themes, a living forest. I started this concept/painting over two years ago and have finally finished it. Looking at this piece makes me think back to my childhood and imagination about the outdoors. It reminds me of how much I desire to illustrate the natural world in a creative, imaginative way.

The stag and doe who trail behind him are the driving energy behind this forest. They bring with them squirrel, rabbits and birds, all of whom are connected to the living breathing energy of the forest.

I primarily used watercolor pencil with the animals, and the background is entirely watercolor paints. I took a photo of it as this piece is very large lol.

I love the movement of the piece, and the morphing of the figures, a very convincing transition! I like how you made the deer and green parts bolder than the blue, but they both are made in the same style so they two parts fit as a whole piece.

I love the effect of the trees, they look like waves on water but in reality their stationary. They give a flow to the piece as well as a stability for the main points of interest to rest on.
the composition in your art is always so amazing

Excellent sense of motion in this one
I also enjoyed staring at the detailed bark of the tree and the stag.
