This photo was taken before varnishing, but as with my other Apophis nids, a brush on gloss varnish added to the carapace after the flat varnish looks pretty cool and beetle shell like.
All paint colors are Privateer Press P3 paints, except for the GW Brown Ink.

Yeah, I followed GW's apocalypse beast naming convention with the Hive Fleets; Leviathan, Jormungandr, Behemoth, etc. Apophis is the Greek name for Apep, which is the egyptian apocalypse serpent.

Yeah, I made it up. I'm a mythology fan, so an appropriate name was quick. The color scheme I found by looking a macro photos of beetles. No fanfic or anything, since the army is not done.

Indeed, I think that is the way to go for the most part. The only army I haven't made at least my own name and color scheme for is space marines; for whom I play Dark Angels.

I would like to say it would eat my whole tactical squad for breakfest (or if they got lucky and kill it befor it gets close) and could you please tell me what kinda bitz you have left from him because I want to get a Carnifex for myself and just paint em for fun.

I have a small number of monstrous creature sized nid bits, but I won't be able to give you an accurate inventory until I use what I need for a Tyrannofex conversion. Note me to remind me or let me know what you are looking for, then I can set aside what I need for the conversion sooner.

Well I'm mostly interested in the Carnifex, like are those the only legs you can put on him and what kind of faces can be equiped and last, what kind of weapons can he use?

Yes, only one set of legs comes with the kit, and others won't fit without carving and/or green stuff. I think the kit came with like 5 or 6 heads though. Weapons that come with the kit are heavy venom cannon, stranglethorn cannon, second set of scything talons, crushing claws, twin devourers, and I think twin deathspitters. Only one main body assembly though, but it does have a few different back plates. Others feel free to correct if I missed something.
The variety that comes with the kit is pretty nice. However, if you are going to run units of carnifexes as one slot, they all have to have the same equipment. So, unless you are buying extra bodies, the variety leaves a lot of leftovers.

Great thanks, I just want one to paint it and tell friends that I did this, also I love the Tyraind race but I'm not gonna make an army out of em since they don't have as many different unites as Space marines.
