The Corsair shares a place in my heart with the Tomcat. Both wicked looking planes. They just look MEAN, like a fighter should.
What was the kill ratio for this thing in the Pacific? 11:1, I think?

Such a wicked plane. Always loved the variable wings, the fact that it was the only platform for the Phoenix missile, the mach 2+ top speed.
Saw one do a high speed bank at an airshow; watching the water VAPORIZE off the top of the plane as that vacuum cone formed⦠just wicked.
Sorry, Hornet, you're a nice little plane, but even a Super Hornet is no Tomcat.

Thanks, yeah overall the the weekend was great sunny on Fri., Sat. but on Sunday it was a mix marginal at times.

It does affect the pix. I had to do a shoot last Saturday in the late evening, which looked great to the eye, but was murder for the camera!
