Description "It's hard to switch back into school mode."

Yes, this is Millie. But, this is isn't the original introduction I wrote, which was a page format instead of a short strip. Why the change?

1. The original script was a bit confusing. Although I really liked the drawings themselves because I used different angles I didn't like the plot. It moved too quickly, was a bit choppy, etc.

2. I don't have a lot of good paper. I don't have a tablet so I do all of my sketches on paper. I didn't finish the pages (I decided to change a few characters and scrapped some pages) and my only good drawing paper (for pages) was too large. I'd have to do a lot of editing on the computer, and with a mouse it'd cause a lot of headaches.

3. I drew up this random comic (which takes up only a small amount of paper) after reading Lucky Star 6 and thought, "Wuh? This isn't my style!". I'd noticed before that after reading manga (or comics) my drawing style will change (as well as humor style) and will look more like the style of the author. Now, I love Lucky Star, but I hate what it does to my drawing style. xD So whenever I read it I always have to take a break or read some different manga) before drawing something. I decided to really test this and to see if anyone else can see the difference by making a comic after reading a different series. I choose Azumanga Daioh and I'm just about to start drawing out the comic.

I've always wanted to draw comics, and now that I've tried making one I have to say that they're a lot of fun but they also take a lot of time! But, that's partially because I used GIMP and I just got Manga Studio which is geared towards comics (so I won't have to do a lot of things manually). One big mistake I made on this though is i only made it about 500 x 800 pixels when I normally do around 50,000 by 80,000. So it looks a lot more pixally... Oh well. That also helped it to save time but I'm definitely doing it larger next time.

The main problem I have with GIMP is that I can't make circles or ovals. D8 I had to do them manually. If I would've been able to do circle, I would've put them behind Millie in the third panel instead of the random shiny things. Also, text is a pain (which is why it overflows in the last panel).

Overall, I do like this. Although there's things that I wanted to do that would've been a pain to do with GIMP and I really want my own style back.

EDIT: Oh gosh, looking at this thing is now painful. 0__0

Thanks, I wish I could've fit more in there though, it's hard when there's a lot less pixels. ;__;

You did a pretty good job for a first try. Hmm no oval in gimp? did you try right clicking on the line drawing tool?
